Bush can''t tell China anything. He''s gotten us so financially indebted to them, that THEY are now the country pulling the strings - not the other way around. - Reply to this comment

- The communism of China is different than the communism of the old Soviet Union in that the people of China actually work. They do not just stay home collecting a paycheck like people did in the old Soviet system. Posted by easeltine at 03:25 PM : Mar 15, 2008

The Communist government needs to continue to use patience and continue to practice wisdom.
************************************************
You have got to be kidding. Continue using patience and wisdom. Where was this patience and wisdom in 1999 when they murdered the students in Tiananmen Square. Where was the patience & wisdom when they forced Internet Providers to restrict web access in order to prevent its people from learning about what is actually happening outside China. Where is the patience and wisdom when it forces women to have an abortion if they dare to have more than one child? Where is the patience and wisdom when it forces families out of their homes and jobs if the women refuse an abortion? Where is this patience and wisdom as they kicked people off their property without proper recompense in order to build their "Olympic City"?
Either you are one of the Chinese "elite" which are allowed unrestrained internet access or you are one of the hypocrites living outside of China using propaganda to justify the Chinese government. - Reply to this comment

- The real sin will be if we attend the Olympics after this action. How can the world not react against this sort of savage retaliation against peaceful protest?

- ===For those of you who believe McCain is a moderate, forget it. He wants to be elected to 2 terms. In order to do that he has to suck up to the base.===
Not necessarily. I don''t believe he suddenly flipflopped on so many views just because. He wanted the nomination, plain and simple, but that''s just politics. Once he gets in, he is free to be more moderate, like he really is and wants to be. And if he does win in 2008, Republicans will have to support him in 2012. True, they don''t have to, but a party dumping an incumbent president and picking someone new for a second term has only happened very rarely in our history. And not at all in recent times. - Reply to this comment

Actually, they are moderates, as is McCain. It must drive you neocons crazy to see all these moderates running, even in your own party, instead of the neocon extremists you are usually used to. - Reply to this comment

- All the talk in the world will never change the Chinese
ethnic cleansing in Tibet. The new world order is based on profit at any cost. China makes every product that Americans used to manufacture. Our Government would never destabilize the so-called Global economy. Badly made and dangerous goods for maximum profit. We allow China to invade and destroy Tibet for fear of losing the cheap labor market that delivers supra-normal profits to our distributors. Is China really a partner of ours? Hardly. We have become enslaved to their production? Tibet is a cinder in the eye compared to these issues. China would lose great face if the Olympics were cancelled. If our young athletes had any consciences, they would stay home. Our government is colluding in the destruction of a sovereign nation. If we cannot humiliate China now, we will never have the opportunity again. - Reply to this comment

- What bothers me the most is what the Bush Admin has done to impede peaceful demonstration in the US. As the 49 yr old protester in front of the UN said that she was attacked by police for no reason. It is happening everywhere in every city. The "Patriot Act" has devolved our cities into police states. The Constitution says we have a RIGHT to peaceful protest, but Bush and Co. threw the Constitution out the window at their earliest opportunity and the Supreme Court which elected Bush has done little to stop it.

Funny I was going to say the same thing about you neocons. But January 2009 is the end of the neocon dynasty - even if McCain wins. It''s over. Neoconism will die out on that date just like McCarthism did 50+ years ago. And both died forthe same reason. People became wise and got fed up with the extremeism. - Reply to this comment
- One poster really made me laugh when he said "Americans should stop buying Chinese products until China changes it''''s policy towards Tibet."
HAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHA
Yeah, you go and try that and get back to us on your success with THAT. Or do you not know that freekin over 50% of everything for sale in every store in this country is either made in China, or has components inside from China?
**************************************************
It is wayyyyyyyyyyy over 50%. I have made it a policy to buy USA since the 70''s, but each year there are fewer and fewer items made or grown here. It''s getting to the point where a person would end up naked and starving if they tried to buy exclusively USA. - Reply to this comment
