- At this present juncture, I am opposed to the armed struggle because we can''t succeed in it, but maybe in the future things will be different." Mahmoud Abbas in an interview with the Jordanian daily al-Dustur (as reported today in The Jerusalem Post). And this guy is the "moderate".

- Since Hamas took over in June 838 rocket and 937 mortar bombs have fallen in Israel. What would we do if the Mexicans in Tijuana did that to San Diego... and the Mexican civilian population supported the action. Wouldn''t be pretty and the word restraint wouldn''t apply.

- I wish Ms. Rice were running for President. She''s wasted trying to talk sense into the useless Mr. Abbas.
My brother and I went to see her when she visited Blackburn here in the UK. We found her most attractive and utterly charming.
She makes other politicians look like amateurs. - Reply to this comment
- Hamas comes from the Muslim Brotherhood. Their intent is the destruction of Israel. Hezbollah is a little more complicated. Funded by the Iranians, their objective is the same. Both are metastatic neoplasms that have sprung one way or another from the Brotherhood and the Nazi Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin al Husseini whose crimes of WWII were allowed to pass by Britain , France and the US.
The Israelis show so much restraint it is amazing. Were Canada sending rockets from Niagarra Falls into New York, we would turn that town into a piece of flat glass with a few craters.
and they are part of those governments from time to time. They hate the West, and particularly the Jews and the Americans. The best book ever written about this is called "Jews and Jihad", by Mathias Kuntzel. Just released in English, it is eye opening
Israelis kill militants who hide knowingly in populations that knowingly embrace them. As the Germans paid for their embrace of the Nazis, with Dresden, so should the people who knowingly elect war over peace, and death over life pay the consequences of their stupid quest to eradicate Israel. - Reply to this comment
- Princess Incompetence blows more hot air on the most violent situation in the world. She needs to be sitting down at the table with all of them, not just some, or that old dog just won''t hunt.

- Anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of Israel and its long history, will know that its reemmergence from an absence of some 2300 years, was no accident or coincidence. The nation and people came back into existance on the same land they owned well before the time of Christ. The rebirth of Israel was foretold thousands of years before it came to be in 1948, and its future is also preset. The prophetic accuracy of the preceding events are too uncanny as to ignore the predicted future. Unfortunately most do and will ignore, the consequences will (as foretold) be very costly

- Abbas is making some serious mistakes here. He''s going along with the "peace process" regardless of how Israel is behaving on the ground with more land confiscations, collective punishment and increasing of Jewish only settlements.
Anyone else in the world would have demanded a halt to these actions before any negotiations are done.
Abbas is really risking losing credibility and power in this situation.
There are many Palestinians now calling for the disintragtion of the Palestinian Authority so they don''t end up doing Israel a favor by implementing their dictates.
If I was Abbas I''d get out of there and run for my life. - Reply to this comment
