Listen, If Al Gore is not smart enough to outwit Bush in a presidential campaign, then he did not deserve to win. Look at what he''s done since. He''s won an academy award and a nobel peace prize for making a movie based on lies and half truths. The embargo was much more than pandering to votes. It was a response to the threat of Cuba posting Soviet Nuclear Missiles 90 miles off our coast. That time is long go though and would like to see the embargo lifted. Not because everyone else is doing it, because I want those cigars!!!

The trade embargo, which prevents me as an American citizen from visiting Cuba only infringes on my rights, not the Cuban people! We are the only country to have such an embargo, Canadians visit Cuba frequently, and so do many Europeans! So how does this embargo hurt anyone but ourselves? We trade freely with China, which is also Communist, in fact we owe them about 1 Trillion Dollars that this administration borrowed, so they could fund the war in Iraq, and still give tax cuts to the rich!

I''m waiting for one of the Presidential candidates to have the courage to say we will end this ill conceived embargo, which is only kept in place to placate a vocal group of Cubans living in Florida! I would love to hear someone say "I will not allow American foreign policy toward Cuba to be sold for a handful of votes in Florida, or anywhere else. There are times for a president to lead, and this is one of those times! End the Embargo! End it NOW!
