formrusmcsgt - a lie, in case the USMC doesn''t teach you, is making a false statement with knowledge that it is false.

A false statement can be a lie, or can be something siad in the belief that it is true, but is found out after the fact is not true.

Kinda like when Bill Clinton said in 1998, the same kind of things, right before he bombed Iraq.

A LIE on the other hand, would be like when Bill Clinton said, as he wagged his finger at the camera, "I did not have s3x with that woman, Monica Lewinsky."

Little word association game folks ?

yeah, that d@mn "Dem" roosevelt sure turned tail and ran from the nazis and japanese.

you know what, you are a liberal democrat, these "neocons" have really convinced you that wanting to spread democracy around the globe, bloating the federal government up until its about to pop are conservative ideas.
how embarrased you must feel.

speakinup, who is uninformed?
did you know that 1987 is when they hub-ub started about Iran-Contra? not when the events it reffered to occured?
go ahead, write another long diatribe about how informed you are and how uninformed everyone else is.
you''''ll just end up looking almost as dumb as you actually are.
you should really ask before you start throwing the "liberal" accusation around, some of us aren''''t liberals, some of us are true conservatives, that want less government and lower taxes. and would prefer the federal government keep their focus on protecting american citizens and not furthuring american corporations agendas.

Just like 935 ''''false statements'''' becoming "lies". Look it up loser, the article NEVER used the word ''''lie'''' in shape way or fashion. You, being what you are, a liberal, took it upon yourself to build upon this statement, a huge ediface - none of which is true.
The far left

Like there''s a difference between "false statements" and "lies"....

Merriam-Webster defines "lie" as: to create a false or misleading impression

A difference without a distinction.

I bet you ranted about Clinton''s "parsing" to boot....

"it will be the United States Military Posted by nggr

If the Dems win - the military won''t be involved at all - just as fast as they can be packed on a plane.

Sure, sure, Rowdy. Jimmy couldn''t do a thing, because Iran KNEW he was impudent. But, they were scared of what Ronald Reagan might do. Reagan had a platform of building up the military, and using it if necessary for foreign policy purposes.

Iran knew D@MN well they had better get rid of those 52 DIPLOMATIC hostages RIGHT AWAY Once Reagan was in power.

Had Jimmy won, those individuals would have languished in Iran for another 4 years. BTW, the Algerian diplomate that got Jimmy to give away the farm for our 52 DIPLOMATS, was only sent AFTER Reagan was elected.

It was give them up for nothing - or squeeze Jimmy for whatever they could get.

So, Obama or McCain ?

"While in Paris, the Republican team gave $40 million to the Iranian government as a gesture of good faith that the Reagan team was serious in dealing with the terrorist Khomeini government -- and that the 52 American hostages should remain captive until after the November election. After the meeting, Bush had to quickly return to the United States in order to deliver a speech at the Washington Hilton Hotel. He departed France in an SR-71 reconnaissance plane, piloted by Gunther Russbacher. The plane was refueled by an Air Force tanker nearly 2,000 miles out of Paris. The entire return flight to the United States was less than two hours."

Bush gave $40,000,000 to a terrorist Iranian government in an act of "good faith"
hardly being tough on terror, dont you think?

"The first meeting regarding arms-to-Iran occurred in July 1980 in Barcelona, Spain and not in Madrid as was initially reported. The Republican team met at the Hotel Princess Sofia and at the Pepsico International headquarters. The American team was led by Republican campaign director William Casey, who months later was to be named CIA chief by Reagan, and by Robert McFarlane, who later became National Security adviser under Reagan. Three months after Barcelona, a more important meeting took place in Paris. CIA agent Richard Brenneke testified that Bush was in Paris on Sunday, October 19, 1980 when he met with members of the Khomeini regime to consummate an arms package to Iran. Bush, along with Casey and other government officials, flew to Paris on a BAC 111 on Saturday evening, October 18. The plane arrived in Paris on Sunday morning October 19 at 8:40 a.m. European time."
