I have lived in the ''Bible belt'' most of my life. There is no comparison with Saudi Arabia with respect to Womens freedom. - Reply to this comment
- tuckerndfw - so you would advocate we treat women like this world wide ?

- Saudi women are NOT mistreated.
The only time I ever had my butt pinched by a strange woman was in Riyadh, KSA. It occurred in very public places (souks) on two different occasions. And, the girls (they appeared to be teenagers) sure didn''''t seem to be oppressed. . .
Many Saudis are pro-western, have lived in the US or Europe and some have homes in the US or Europe. They are far more knowledgable about us than we are about them.
As evidenced by the comments posted on this board.

So, when they are riding in a car with all males, and then they get pulled out of the car and stoned to death, they are not being mistreated? - Reply to this comment
- BTW, my next door neighbor was a very devout Egyptian Muslim and he was well aware of what was going on. Amazing how he wasn''''t compelled to report anyone to the Saudi equivalent to the DEA or BATF . . .
Another neighbor was growing marijuana. . .

- Abdoul-Pasha, clearly you don''t read what Islamic women write on the web or say on TV shows targeting intellectual women. Maybe you''re part of the problem and just don''t know it.
That happens everywhere--if it''s not part of your personal experience, it''s easy to deny. - Reply to this comment
- Rowdy - then Pakistan is a possible relocation site for you, rather than Belize ?
Yeah - RIGHT!
You believe Abdoul_Pasha ! Oh, I forgot, that''s correct yo are from the far left - the gullible bunch.
Saaaaaaay - why don''t you go out and test this hogwash story by meeting Abdula at starbucks! You show those militant police a thing or two, smack''em around. Tell''em they are full of it, and you''ll talk to whomever you please!
Oh please, please!

- Abdoul_Pasha, being enculturated as little children doesn''t make it right to treat a segment of the population as inhuman or 2nd class. Both extremist Islamists and extremist Christians (as well as other religious and ideological extremists) tend to sideline females.
Don''t try to soften female genital mutilation, the fact that many women wear the clothing to avoid gang rape, and the like. Until all women are emancipated and not brainwashed as children to accept second-class citizenship, no human being is truly free. - Reply to this comment
