- Because every minute we stay there costs me tax dollars that the RINO borrow and spend monkeys use like toilet paper. Because it can''''t be won anymore than the Israelis have won the fight against "turrrrists". That''''s why.....sheesh, fearmonger RINOs....

Right on Floyd. That and the fact that 76% of Iraqi''s want us to leave, because they view us as an "occupation force" - not "liberators".
Most compelling should be the fact that 72% of AMERICANS want us out of there. There''s this little part of our country''s history, that our government seems to forget - "By the People, For the People". In other words, the government should follow the will of the people. Not the military industrial complex. - Reply to this comment

Well, that''s part of it, but there were other reasons as well. What you are describing is the liberal "Hippie" movement.
So, I take it that you agree with me on the reason why we pulled out prematurely? - Reply to this comment
- The usual lack of respect for a strong military by the liberal LBJ''''s administration at the start of the Vietnam war along with the traitor''''s Fonda, Kerry, and others most likely also contributed to our demise.

You''re calling a decorated war hero a traitor?!?!
I suppose you consider "AWOL George" and "Five-Deferment Cheney" to be "True American Patriots"? - Reply to this comment

Come up with a better reason for us having to pull out prematurely, and I would be willing to listen.
One note that I forgot to add though. What I posted about the Vietnam vets meant no disrespect to them whatsoever. They won every battle they fought in Vietnam.
The core of us having to pull out prematurely was the liberal hippie movement and the constant demoralizing of the nation by the Hollywood elite. - Reply to this comment
- As ANY Vietnam Vet will tell you, you can''''t "give" people Democracy THEY must be willing to fight for it AND accept the opinion''''s and positon''''s of those they do NOT agree with -- MCVET
Oh, I believe the South Vietnamese were willing to fight for Democracy. They just did not have the numbers, nor the know-how to do it.
It was relied upon us to stop the spread of communism in which we failed to do so.
The American military during that time was not very well equipped, nor very well trained at that time. (most likely due to lax entry qualifications and drafting pot smoking hippies)

As ANY Vietnam Vet will tell you, you can''t "give" people Democracy THEY must be willing to fight for it AND accept the opinion''s and positon''s of those they do NOT agree with. You also, can not just walk into people''s countries armed to the teeth and start TELLING them how to govern themselves. We have been fighting that fight in this nation for over 200 years. Go back through our history books and LOOK at the number of times someone, who wished to expand or extend freedom, has been called a Radical or Liberal by the Right! - Cross cultural social engineering should be outlawed as genocide and we should attend to our search and destroy activity. Leave Iraq to the incidence of her active Warlords. Pakistan has President General Musharraf whose allies are collegial officers ... We should accept his standards and apply our coadaptive efforts to hunt Al Qaeda and Taliban who contest us. We should not be advancing democracy which requires more than rallies and ink in boxes.

- Y2K brought 20th century thinking into a 21st century war ... We hunt terrorism in killing fields occuppied by other wars and ill defined aggression. We must learn to ally ourselves with the fighting Warlords in these other arenas as we pace our hunt and avoid becoming distracted by humanitarian considerations and nation building. As long as the US puppet Musharraf has the army behind him he can maintain the trappings of power, but that is not leading a country, it is imprisoning it.
Signboards that had been erected two months ago to mark Bhutto''s return from exile to Pakistan still dotted the route. On one, someone had scrawled, "Benazir you are the hope for the poor."
Sadly that hope, just like the hope for the poor in America, has been murdered... - Reply to this comment
- The headline is dead wrong.Benazir''s party is rudderless at the moment. But Pakistan is fine. The egregious folly of underestimating Pervez Musharraf continues, unfortunately. He can steady the boat as long as the army is behind him.Benazir, like any dead leader, does not matter so much in the long term. Let us not forget she was not in the picture at all until a couple of months back

those who see a ''''''''conspiracy'''''''' in the most simple things is a sign of a demented delussional and often bitter person..
***********
The problem with conspiracy theories is though that engage in conspiracies have managed to portray them as a joke and believers as loonies--but the sad truth is, that many major conspiracy theories have some merit and years or decades later, are found out to have been at least partially true. Remember that and be careful what you repudiate--in the future it may be the theorists who appear prescient, while everyone who denied and mocked them are shown to have been fools and dupes. - Reply to this comment
