Are you not conveniently forgetting the Crusades, the Inquisitions, and the Heresy trials of past, the latter not so far past.- Reply to this comment
- Dogsoul,
That''s what I was trying to say earlier. I think Christainity has done much more good than harm. The book "What if Christ hadn''t been born" talks about that very thing. It talks about all the good that has been done since recorded time in regard to charities, welfare, looking after the underdog, etc... has its roots in Christianity. And the irony is that many who consider themselves athiests embrace all of these things without giving credit to where they originated.
gunownerdan,
I messed up earlier, I pasted one of your quotes and hit the button before I typed what I was going to say. oops. - Reply to this comment
- animal traits of greed, power, land, ***, etc... account for the vast vast vast majority of all human suffering

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, without exception, justified on religious grounds.

- This is just another case of someone who chose to expose herself to these Islamic animals and ended up regretting that decision...
Sorry honey - we''ve got ENOUGH of a hard time keeping these barbarians from blowing us up in our OWN country - if you put YOURSELF in the palm of THEIR hands??? You''re on your own baby.... - Reply to this comment
- Founding father Thomas Paine definitely said it best.

I agree. Wouldn''t Islam fit into the category Paine is talking about? I''ve heard several of the radical muslims talk about how they expect to convert the whole world, by force if necessary. Christainity would not want to convert the world by force. The whole doctrine is exactly the opposite of conversion by force. It''s completely by choice. So, I guess Christianity would not be one of the religions "established by law", right? - Reply to this comment
- ...you gotta love how this kind of thing brings the atheists out stating how religioun is the cause of all that ails us... when a simple review of history shows us that clearly, in the sum total of all man made conflict, suffering & misery - the base secular human animal traits of greed, power, land, ***, etc... account for the vast vast vast majority of all human suffering while religious based conflicts are but a whimper... in fact, religion has most assuredly TEMPERED these aspects of the atheist human animal & probably thwarted infinitely more suffering than it''s created... Naturally, smug atheists are too self involved to see something so obvious - despite their claims of living more in reality than everybody else...
That''s ok - they''ll find out shortly after they die... and when they do - just be glad you''re not one of THEM - Reply to this comment
