Did anyone, anywhere expect Bush to do anything other than try to stonewall meaningful changes on climate change? Of course, Rush told him it was all a myth and everyone knows he never lies!

"U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon said climate change imperils "the most precious treasures of our planet" and called on the United States and China -- the world''s two biggest polluters - to do more to fight it."

And the rest of the world knows that the U.S. and China will be the LAST to do anything.

I would love to see a story on the success of science in making acurate predictions. How many scientific-based prophecies come true. I believe Scientists are POOR Prophets. any takers?

"What''s changed since 2001 is the scientific certainty that this is happening," she said in a conference call to reporters late Friday. "Back in 2001 the IPCC report said it is likely that humans were having an impact on the climate," but confidence in human responsibility had increased since then.

Strange that scientific certainty increased when the two main arguments for the CO2 cause have been proven wrong. What''s left is models, which could not be validated. I wonder how they can make "scientific certainty" increase. Sounds more like a new religion to me ...

"It''s easier to deal with the climate change issue if you''ve got the revenues and finances to invest in new technologies that will change how we live, and at the same time enable us to grow our economies," President Bush said.

We do have the revenues and finances, just quit stealing them for your illegal wars, and give back what has already been stolen.

Afterwards, kindly be impeached and tried for treason.

In response to this report, President Bush has indicated that additional studies are still needed, with the findings to be announced after he leaves office. By then, the president remarked, "I couldn''t give a flying *** about those findings anyway."

Sir
At last the power packed nation with the glittering dollar do realise that this call has been heeded. It was nothing like Y2K. It is worst. What is more at this time when OPEC meets third time in 37 years, Chavez even tells us that the oil will go to dollars200/barrel. I think this is the right time to think real green. All green.

"The Earth is hurtling toward a warmer climate at a quickening pace, a Nobel-winning U.N. scientific panel said in a landmark report released Saturday, warning of inevitable human suffering and the threat of extinction for some species. "
---------------------
No, it is not a Nobel-winning U. N. scientific panel, it is a Nobel-winning U. N. POLITICAL panel.
The IPCC was created for the POLITICAL purpose of producing "authoritative data" to show that global warming was occurring, although the Earth had been experiencing global cooling at the time. The IPCC won the Nobel Peace prize for its political work, not any scientific prize for doing any science whatsoever.

It is particularly interesting that this political panel is "warning of inevitable human suffering" as a preface to instructions of how to avoid the inevitable.

Blah, blah, blah... Like this is the first "global warming" this planet has ever experienced! Sure, I am most sympathetic to any human or animal who suffers as a result. However, these sufferings have occurred many times over millions of years. Just ask your scientists!! Not to downplay it - I''m simply sick & tired of hearing it''s Human''s fault. Like this monster just snuck up on us overnight or something. I guess the waaaay out left just need an aside to the Bush complaints, I don''t know. But this is lame, and it is getting most old.
