Who cares what John "Death Squad" Negroponte thinks about it, and why is he still at-large?

It is not a secret that Pakistan has a number of secret air bases where civilians are never allowed to go. What can one expect? There must be some good reason that even after the extremists are strengthening in Pakistan, U.S has not deployed its troops in Pakistan! why?
Because, possibly, they (U.S and NATO) would readily have been using Pakistan''s air bases without announcing it publicly. Each and everything is not to be told to the public.
So they might be working in close cooperation with a win-win situation. - Reply to this comment
- The Commander refers to non indians, the Chief refers to indians, as we do not have commanders. Further, whereas non indians are expected to listen to their commanders, even when they do something stupid like surrender, indians have no obligation to follow a chief whose ideas are dysfunctional. The treaties upon which federal authority is based are with us, the indians, not the hindustanis of hindustan nor euro mediterraneans kings and queens. The President on a battle field would probably be arrested if he interfered with real time battle. Even generals can risk their lives if they interfere with real time battle. There is so much subterfuge and undermining that trust levels are not necessarily real high when things get violent. Junior officers are supposed to act with some reflection to accomplish missions which senior officers may for their reasons thwart. If you don''t like the order, shoot your radio as it were. Get your job done and order another radio.

- "You can''''t be the president and the head of the military at the same time," Mr. Bush said, describing a telephone call with Musharraf.

Dubya appears painfully ignorant of the last 8 years of Pakistan''s history which has seen Musharraf as president AND head of the military..... - Reply to this comment
- Bush has done everything in his power to raise the price of oil. There really isn''t one more thing he could do. Oil was $24 a barrel when Bush took office, and now it''s nearly $100.
Oil prices are driven by the difficulty of getting the most difficult barrel of oil to market. The oil companies make exactly as much per barrel of oil whether it comes from deep in Iraq or from an oil well in Santa Barbara. This has led to record profits for US oil companies. Bush, Condi and Cheney are as oily as they come, and so are all their friends. - Reply to this comment
- Isn''t it sad how Bush thinks he can order others around?
He tells Musharraf what he needs to do and Musharraf says "so what"?
He tells Iran what it needs to do and Iran says "so what"?
He tells Castro what he needs to do and Castro says "so what"?
He tells Chavez what he needs to do and Chavez says "so what"?
You''d think that Dubya would get it by now....... - Reply to this comment
