Yes, as I said one other time, there is nothing that people like better than to put a bully or someone who thinks their "sh-t don''t stink", in their place. (no offense):) - Reply to this comment
- Initially the British had proposed a Palestine divided between a Jewish and an Arab State; but in time changed their position and sought to limit Jewish immigration from Europe to a minimum. This was seen by the Zionists and their sympathisers as betrayal of the terms of the mandate, especially in light of the increasing persecution in Europe (leading to the Holocaust). It was met with a popular uprising and guerilla war from Jewish and Arab militant groups, often viewed as one of several factors that forced the British to hand the problem of Palestine over to the United Nations.

- On 29 November 1947 the United Nations voted a plan for the partition of the British Mandate territory of Palestine to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict in the British Mandate of Palestine. The plan came to be called the United Nations Partition Plan for Palestine or United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181. The plan was approved by the United Nations General Assembly by 33 votes to 13, with 10 abstentions.

Short and sweet, then. Who partitioned Palestine? Brittain or the UN? - Reply to this comment
- I think you need to check your history. The British didn''''t partition Palestine. They basically punted and left it to the UN.

Too big a subject to even discuss here, don''t want to patronise you but do look into the history of it a little deeper perhaps. I am actually planning a news website work in progress, there I will be able to have much more space than 1500 characters to explain what I stated in clear historical terms (evidence & proofs), for now best leave it at that, as it''s such a HUGE subject to discuss. - Reply to this comment

China and Russia do cooperate moreso than in the past but are still wary of each other.
They have parallel agendas and are in close proximity to each other which keeps them from actually embracing each other....
The biggest issue they both have in common is putting America in check as it serves both country''s agendas to do so. - Reply to this comment

- Kinda of a ''''snap'''' then when I posted comments regarding Israel and also ''''formrusmcsgt'''' at the same time, apologise for my typing earlier, kinda getting tired here, but yes Israel in my opinion is, well without being too heavy, not a cool force in this world today.

Israel only cares about Israel and will continue to use the US as their 800 pound trained gorrila as long as we are stupid enough to be used as such. - Reply to this comment

Someone else wrote in their post that Iran wasn''t capable of building nuclear weapons. Well maybe not on their own but if they have a buddy to help them....
Russia is Irans buddy, China is Russia''s buddy now, it could be just me but things ain''t looking good. The U.S. is pissing everybody off and I am afraid it is just a matter of time before some other countries "get together" and retaliate. Now if the U.S. gets blown off the map, that means we in Canada will go with them.:) - Reply to this comment

- I''''ve actually been told "You really understand what''''s going on in the world and that''''s unusual for an American". While I may have felt good for myself it''''s humiliating for that to be true, and it is!!!

As have I, more times than I could ever count.
Americans, in general, are too consumed by their diversions to care what''s going on outside their little life.
Our politicians count on this distraction and ignorance and capitalize on it.
Evidence the fact that 72% of Americans were all for dubya''s stomping into Iraq like some great American cowboy... - Reply to this comment

- Although American, I have lived in 9 different countries in my lifetime and, by far, find Americans to be the most self-absorbed.If you buy an American newspaper, international news is relegated to page 6 or some such.
Pitiful.

Like you I''ve lived in quite q few countries and you are correct. Most other peoples are much more aware of the real world situations than Americans ever are. I''ve actually been told "You really understand what''s going on in the world and that''s unusual for an American". While I may have felt good for myself it''s humiliating for that to be true, and it is!!! Watch BBC News for a fresh perspective. - Reply to this comment
- If we are not the "man" for the world, why does the world keep wanting us to get involved in Middle East peace?

Do you not think that ZIONIST influence within the US is a driving force for your continued involvment in the Middle East. The US only became involved in the second world war because of zionists within th US influencing events. The UK at the time we were in great trouble, we needed your help, to get you involved we promiosed the zioinists the would get the State of Israel, we agreed, they got you into the war, and today we have Israel. Do you not think they are not still influencing your foriegn policy and involvment in the Middle East ? - Reply to this comment

I don''t know that I totally agree with that assessment, AJ.
Prior to Bush''s warmongering, the US was perceived, in general, to be neutral enough to bring about some sort of resolution to the issue.
Now, our "leverage" is basically hinging on our aid to Israel. With the neocons in the White House, the last thing that''s going to happen is any traction on the issue for two reasons.
First, Bush/Cheney/Rice have alienated many Arab governments with their hegemony.
Secondly, the neocons would be the very last people to threaten the Israeli''s in any meaningful manner if they don''t get off the dime. - Reply to this comment
