This one is not the "neocons" doing! All you have to do is look to The lose at all cost Democratically controlled congress. Amrica was starting to make progress in Iraq so Harry and the rest that have already declared failure needed to do something to nip any progress in the bud, once again the Dems were successful at that agenda!

The Assyrian Genocide occurred bewteen 1914 and 1920, under the regime of the Young Turks.

In total, 750,000 Assyrians were killed at the hands of the Ottoman Turks, aided by the Kurds.

(The Kurds also joyously participated in the Armenian Genocide.)

"The Young Turks" was a coalition of various reform groups in favor of reforming the administration of the Ottoman Empire. Their movement brought about the second constitutional era through a Young Turk Revolution against the monarchy of Sultan Abdul Hamid II. The movement was initiated among military students in 1889, and extended to other sections. With the official establishment of Committee of Union and Progress (CUP) in 1906, most of the Young Turks became members of this party.

The impact of the Young Turks on shaping the official ideology of early modern Turkey went far beyond the political changes they effected.

"The Three Pashas" (Mehmed Talat Pasha, Ismail Enver and Ahmed Djemal) of the Young Turks ruled the Ottoman Empire from the Coup of 1913 until the end of World War I. The Young Turks were responsible for orchestrating the Armenian Genocide as well as the Assyrian Genocide."

There"s an old proverb: "He WHO excuses himself, accuses himself."

The Turks are doing both.

"Essentially the same "New Turks" are running that country, as those who committed the genocide. Not the same individuals, but the same group."

That"s why they"re acting so defensive about it.

In Germany, the Nazi party is long gone, except for a few scattered nutcases. That"s why Germany has never registered a protest about Congressional resolutions commemorating the Holocaust.

There"s an old proverb: "He wo excuses himself, accuses himself."

The Turks" defensiveness about the Resolution, further confirms their guilt.

90 years is not that long ago, to anyone who has a grasp of history.

And if we"re going to sweep the Armenian GENOCIDE at the hands of the Turks -- if we are going to sweep that under the carpet to please them, then lets avoid all future mention of Saddam Hussein''s gassing of the Kurds.

Lets at least avoid that hypocrisy.

Essentially the same "New Turks" are running that country, as those who committed the genocide. Not the same individuals, but the same group.

It"s as if the Nazis were still in power in Germany. We wouldn"t be appeasing THEM, would we ?

We shouldn"t be appeasing these Turks.

How dare Turkey, a nation with a long history of brutality and genocide (among Greeks, calling someone a Turk is the worst of insults), a nation whose military leaders aid and abet the international drug trade, lecture anybody, much less attempt to infringe the First Amendment rights of the U.S. Congress ?

This skirmish ? The Turks don"t even have nukes.

When Nancy Pelosi gets us in a shooting war with China, get back to us.

These animals have been killing Kurds for centuries. This genocide vote was a good reason for these insects to commit murder again and again.. Turkey will suffer the wrath of the Kurds soon.

How are our comments on Turkey and Armenia genocide an excuse to bombard the Kurds.

Didn''t we fly out of Turkey to help protect these same people???? What gives with Turkey? Are they power crazed somehow? Do they desire Putin to come in and take them over?

Has the world gone crazy??? Yes it has.

Turkey got us out of the way so they could do this, how ignorant is this.

The lands that the Kurds are fighting Turkey over have been Kurdish territories for centuries. The Turk''s have been trying to quash the Kurds for just as long, and with the same vengeance they gave the Armenians; except in this case, the Kurds have stood up to all the Turkish genocide attempts on them.

Alaskan residents are receiving good money from the oil extracted from their state even though that oil is on federal land. Why does only the Alaskans get a benefit and no one from the remaining 49 states?

The Kurds and their oil deal is similar, although I don''t think either the Kurds or Alaskan oil deals are fair.
