I didn''t post that the annoying and arrogant Craker Carter was a racist because he is from Ga or the South. A racist can come from anywhere.

However, anyone who knows American history, will know that America''s racism is MOST VISIBLY & UNABASHEDLY identified with the South.

Give ''em hell Jimmy! You''re still the most unfairly under-rated president of modern times! If there is anyone that history will see in the same light as a Truman, it won''t be the chimp in the White House, it''ll be you and men like you!

robertkjjj,

Since you can name a thousand things worse than Darfur could you offer just a few?

If you think Carter is an embarrassment for the U.S. in the world you must be downright appalled at what President Bush has done for our global image.

By the way, have you been ni=ominated for any Nobel Peace Prizes lately?

Whiney little senile f*cker. %u201CI%u2019ll tell President Bashir about this,%u201D. Sounds just like a 4-year-old kid whining "I''ll tell Mommy!". Jimmy Carter, the senile, incompetent, traitorous, inept, confused, moronic tattletale. God how I hate this guy. God, what a complete mess this man is. What a complete embarrassment that he comes from the USA. Why doesn''t he just go back to the rest home and sit on his bedpan where he belongs? I can think of a thousand things worse than Darfur, and Jimmy Carter and his heinous legacy top that list.

tcoleman,

I can''t get inside Carter''s mind to know what motivates him, I don''t have your telepathic powers.

What I do know is that while other Presidents traditionally have lived out their retirement on the public dole playing golf Mr. Carter has lived out the humanitarianism that he has preached.

I don''t give him quite as much credit as Sharn Cedar but I do agree that he didn''t receive the credit he deserved for laying the groundwork for an end to the Cold War or for an end to runaway inflation.

When Carter was President there were regulations in place which prevented U.S. oil companies from selling overseas at the same world prices as OPEC. When Carter lifted this curb it led to greater drilling/refining by domestic producers and ultimately by other non-OPEC producers. This eventually broke the back of the cartel but by that time Reagan was President and he got all the credit for lower inflation resulting from lower oil prices.

Reagan ended the cold war. Go to

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/cold_war.htm

I quote "A major change in the cold war took place in 1985. That is when Mikhail Gorbachev became leader of the Soviet Union. Gorbachev held four meetings with President Ronald Reagan. He withdrew Soviet forces from Afghanistan. And he signed an agreement with the United States to destroy all middle-distance and short-distance nuclear missiles.

By 1989 there was widespread unrest in Eastern Europe. Gorbachev did not intervene as these countries cut their ties with the Soviet Union. The Berlin Wall, the major symbol of communist oppression, was torn down in November. In less than a year, East and West Germany became one nation again. A few months after that, the Warsaw Pact was dissolved."
I hope that settles it

SharnCedar you are incorrect. Carter had not a thing to do with winning the cold war. He weakened our military. Reagan, in his first term right from the getgo started building it back up to the point where the soviets could not keep up. I believe we actually out funded them. Now though, we need to pay attention as Putin is taking Russia back to the dark ages (he is flying his nuclear equiped bombers just like back in the good old days) while we are busy in Iran and Iraq. Idiots like Chavez in south america are arming up while we are busy as well. I would not want to be our next leader. He or she had better be good
