Troops Appeared To Aim Above Crowd Of 70,000 Anti-Gov't Demonstrators
- 18c6 is right. the rich are always with us.
hoarding, gloating, mocking the have nots. wanting
more, and more, and more and more by hook or crook.
soon the rich will not need us, even as consumers
of the cars they sell us so we can get to work.
most people spend their whole paychecks from
working to get to work. might as well just
sleep in a cot at your work station. but soon
androids will do that, and the rich can dispense
with the ''bothersome'' peasantry once and for all. - Reply to this comment

Just once, mudrose. Hear me. I would never believe my opinions have any more importance than yours. I never advocate one party over another. Our government needs Republicans, I have faith they aren''t going anywhere.
It is the precious balance of our two party system that is important, it is the debate between the conservative mantra and the liberal litany that is key, it is in the middle waters of compromise we need to moor our government, not the luxury given to the preferred set of views while demeaning and degrading any other points of view, like Rush and company.
Why? Because America is a country of diverse peoples, of diverse income ranges, of a wide range of religious beliefs. Bush represents so narrow a margin of the diversity of America, and he has left out all of us who aren''t in his circle, or his income bracket, or his political party, while he rains profit and privilege on those within. Of course, the GOP in their machinations to centralize power within their own party wouldn''t admit to that, nor to the fact that in doing so, they seek to destroy democracy.
We are not so different nor so far away from Yangon as you would like to believe. It is at the insistence of questioners and oversight and JUSTICE that we keep our democracy. You would rather not question Bush and let democracy be shredded, than question him and save it?
What is so danged wrong with questioning? - Reply to this comment

We could only hope that such moronic unamerican traitors such as yourself are burnished but this country is being bought by foreign wealth. Traitors such as our "leadership" cozy up to foreign global wealth because these individuals perception of personal wealth have replaced the perception of wealth being our resources and our people. The selfishness of some have sold off this country for self gain and as our current mascot stated, who cares, in 50 years none of us will be around anyhow.
So as Bill Gates fights malaria and has no interest in protecting the founding principles of this nation we will lose our freedoms and find ourselves one day at the mercy of malaria because the institutions that best fight disease through economic prosperity for the greatest common good will have been neglected and lost. - Reply to this comment

- The foundation of this country was not about fleeing religious persecution as much as it was fleeing tyranny of the wealthy who created such desperation amongst the peasants that they risked their lives to cross the ocean in vessels that had higher odds of sinking to seek opportunity to own land and till the fields. Large concentrations of corporate wealth have destroyed this. What is now called freedom in america is a lack of limits, a free ticket for sociopathic insatiable hogs who as individuals or corporate dealers will one day invoke the same maniacal hatred toward the working masses of this country should these sociopathic concentrations of wealth be challenged for their tyranny. The elements of such hatred against mankind have become more visible in recent years. An antithesis to the foundation of the United States is wearing a thin cloak of patriotism claiming to be the protection of freedom and "our way of life".

- Americans have felt so secure from such scenes but it should always be a warning that when wealth concentrates in the hands of a few who wish to shrink the government which represents by allowing one vote to every adult man and woman, when wealth once to privatize the resources of the country, when wealth propagandizes the message that government should serve only once purpose which is to provide security, this is the kind of security the masses receive....protection of the wealthy base of power.

Yeah, perhaps you can tell it to the monks. However, they seem to show it...not with rhetoric but with their lives. Wave that magic wand. - Reply to this comment
