I just wish I could express my comments that way. Thanks AaaBee.I just try my best and if it gets across it makes me feel better. If I made a mistake they will let me know and I hope instead of name calling they will explain why I was wrong . I can take it and I know I am not always right but my heart is always in the right place. Thanks AaaBee again you are a credit to this comment page, and help me learn every time. - Reply to this comment

Thanks. We have lost our ability to debate the issues and come to an agreement somewhere between radical conservativism and radical liberalism. Debate is that balance struck between progressing into the future, while maintaining our foundational roots and history.
This IS democracy at its best.
We are humans and fallible, government is a human endeavor and fallible. If governmental oversight is denied, as ours has been with rejected subpeonas and lies under oath for the past 7 years, than the door is wide open for human mistake and failure that is already costing this country billions of dollars and 3500+ human lives.
Oversight is an internal security measure against tyranny. Such oversight will be demanded during a Democrat presidency, and speaks loudly about trust on the GOP side. Well, there is an equal amount of "trust" on the Democrat side and oversight today should be the same level and as fair as it will be after the ''08 elections.
It is wrong that the GOP wants a closed government during their reign and an open government when the other guy is in power. - Reply to this comment
- CBS reports, "The use of force will almost certainly put pressure on Myanmar''s top economic and diplomatic supporter, China, which is eager to burnish its international image before next year''s Olympics in Beijing.
When faced with a similar crisis in 1988, Myanmar brutally suppressed a student-led democracy uprising. Soldiers shot into crowds of peaceful demonstrators, killing thousands."
--
We are instantly reminded that the following year, the PRC killed at least hundreds of unarmed demonstrators in Tienanmen Square, the order given by Deng Xiaoping.
No surprise Myanmar should be a PRC client state-- both dictatorships certainly think alike. What should surprise us is how so many American firms rush forward to help Beijing pretend in the Olympics that it is something it assuredly is not-- a third-world nation struggling with high hopes for a democratic future.
The PRC remains the world''s most prosperous Communist dictatorship, thanks in great part to American dollars. For all his blarney about democracy, Bush has tip-toed around China since he entered office. Bush handlers constantly remind him the US economy is literally indebted to the PRC, so Beijing will never, ever make it to W''s "Axis of Evil" list. Which makes the AoE list seem so completely disingenuous and contrived as the piece of B-grade propaganda that it was designed to be. - Reply to this comment

- My pleasure......just getting tired of all the callus statements by people that probably have never left their own state, thinking because they have a computer, they know how life is outside their own home. The Monks they are referring to are what the rest of the world can follow as an example of peaceful living.

I totally agree. But I fear this somehow will be translated into Bush''s fault too. - Reply to this comment

- not taking things too seriously, just putting in my point of view. People think this is a BLOG, which it isn''''t, it''''s a comment section which is entirely different. If CBS wanted to call it a blog, they would have.

- Hey everyone on here, coffee_guy1 is a complete and utter moron. The creep thinks by twisting the english language around to suit "itself" is cool, but it only shows how much of a DUFUS it is...yeah I say it, because you are not a human being to come up with trash talk like that.

Thing is you don''t take these things seriously. You''ll bust a gut. He''s entitled to his opinion. Wouldn''t worry thought, tomorrow he''ll take a different point of view. At least he sees both sides of the argument. Today he is especially petulant. Apparently, Monks fighting for Democracy scares some people. It''s the religion thing. - Reply to this comment

I do not see one wrong thing, you keep it up, and you are right, I never see your writings as a put down of anything or anyone, only thoughtful words that I hope just make us think. What is wrong with that? That is the American Way AaaBee.- Reply to this comment
