Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the jizya (poor-due), then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. - Qu%u2019ran, 9:5
If the above might look familiar, it%u2019s known as Ayat al-Sayf, or the Verse of the Sword. And unfortunately, it%u2019s quite a significant passage in governing the relationship between Muslims and the rest of the world

Do you see any difference between the above mentioned verses of quran and the following verses of bible quoted by singinrick;

Jesus Himself said, "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law---a man''''s enemies will be the members of his own household%u2019" (Matthew 10:34-36). "From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it" (Matthew 11:12).

Aljazeera-English article.

Israel''s silence has spawned several theories, including a suggestion that Israel was on an intelligence-gathering mission to test Syria''s air defences and to scout an air corridor for a future strike against Iranian nuclear facilities.

Another raised the possibility that Israel was trying to hit a shipment of arms destined for the Lebanese guerrilla group Hezbollah, a close ally of both Syria and Iran.

Israel often has been swift to announce such operations in the past but this time, Syria cryptically announced that its air space had been entered and that Israel had "dropped munitions".

Syria has offered no evidence of any Israeli attack. Israel has dismissed recent calls by Syria to restart peace talks, citing Damascus'' continued support for Palestinian armed groups and Hezbollah guerrillas in Lebanon.

AJMarine1,,,, Think about it a moment, where there is smoke from a blast at a nuclear site -- there would be a detectable release of radioactive material,, None was detected.

"or nuclear processing equipment."....J, I didn''t write the article, just ran across it; everyone is so hush, hush about what happened. I am with you though, if it had been nuclear material, there would have been radiation.

Part 2

There''s really only a few things that North Korea could be exporting to Syria that would warrant such an attack: nukes, nuclear (fissile) material not yet processed into bomb components, or nuclear processing equipment. My guess is that it''s the latter. Nothing else which North Korea could have shipped would have warranted such a response, and I suspect the Israeli thinking on this is the same as mine. So, unless Mossad''s intelligence was wrong and the shipment was something benign, Israel did themselves and the world a service by blasting this site and its nuclear-related materials to bits.

Article from "Coldhearthed Truth"

North Korean Shipment Target of Israeli Strike
Filed under: Post, Indy Voter %u2014 Indy Voter @ 12:50:09 pm
The Times of London today has an article providing details on the Israeli air strike against a base in northeastern Syria ten days ago which states that the target was a recently arrived shipment from North Korea. The article describes Israeli attention to the site dating back to the spring, the secrecy surrounding the planning of the strike, early warnings to Syria that Israel was planning some sort of attack (but not where or when), and the arrival in Syria a few days before of a shipment of North Korean "concrete". The article also states that the U.S. was aware enough of Israel''s intentions that they provided Israel with IFF codes for USAF jets so they wouldn''t be mistakenly fired on by Israel.

Strangely on the same page I found also those two extracts from the Quran:

[60:8] GOD does not enjoin you from befriending those who do not fight you because of religion, and do not evict you from your homes. You may befriend them and be equitable towards them. GOD loves the equitable.

[60:9] GOD enjoins you only from befriending those who fight you because of religion, evict you from your homes, and band together with others to banish you. You shall not befriend them. Those who befriend them are the transgressors.

-All I hope you understand why they are fighting the aggressors?
