Now would be a great time to hear from politicians with their views and their incentive offers to American businesses to bring manufacturing back to the USA.Posted by olebd

How's this for an American business incentive...Don't import ANYTHING from China and we, the consumers, will continue to make purchases from you. If you import ANYTHING from China our business and our money go elsewhere. No need to get our Government involved at all. After all, Money talks but NO Money talks louder.

Wake up people......Time to stop buying toys. Yes, you heard me. When 80% of toys are made in china and are loaded with lead, you take your chance. Your kids will live. Everyone needs to stop buying toys from china and in turn it will stop the profits from the American companies who went to China. They are going to be the losers in all of this.It will show these companies who went over to China, that they need the middle class to buy their products. If you continue buying toys from China, you take your chances with your kids health. Is it really worth it??????

Toothpaste containing toxins, killer pet food and now dangerous toys.

Western countries are far too eager to jump on the Chinese trade bandwagon. Not only do we need far more stringent safety checks, we need to call into question their appalling human rights record.

Greed is allowing a vehemently communist regime to thrive. We feed this dodgy dragon at our peril.

candy-apple.....

It has to do with the reduced purchasing power of US workers displaced by the disruption of the wage system created by the influx of illegals. With the increasing numbers of poor citizens, whose lives have been ruined by the illegals taking the low wages, they are now forced to buy cheaper goods. This seems to give justification to the Walmarts of the world to increase their outsourcing, China being one of the countries. Look what happens. No surprises here.

I think this is getting out of hand. We can't just stop buying things that are made in China, since everything on the market is "made in China", when the hell will our stuff start being made in America, again. We all know that we need jobs out here, and we're not out to kill each other. I think its time this government stop worrying about feeding other countries and worry about feeding our own!!!

Well, they've got a good start. And if you are all waiting for your government to do something, it isn't going to happen. And if you think your fellow Americans are going to stop buying stuff from China, that isn't going to happen either because most people are just too lazy to do anything about it.

"Just another reason to buy "American made"..." posted by marbru

It's time for everyone to stop "yakking" about it and start doing it. Once everybody stops buying products from China, we will no longer have to see or hear about it. (at least from China anyways.)

Who is in charge of imports?? Think hard now!!! Customs. Who is in charge of toy safety?? We have private and goverment agencies that overlook this. What happened?? How about the bad pet food,Bad tires??? What else do they send here that can hurt us?? Just don't buy anything made in China if you can. The dollar bill will speak in a loud voice.

When are the Feds going to get involved in this? Come on. If this isn't a case where the walefare of the American people is at stake, than what is? Point being: Bush...do your job and get American inpsectors in China to make sure the products are safe for us. The time is now!! Or, is it that you and your family have so much money tied up with chinese imports that stopping that flow of faulty goods will cost too much for you and carl and dick etc?
