I agree, the ring is NOT a religious symbol, but rather is more of a political statement, so banning it does not interfere with her right to express her religion.

You see how screwed up the system is in the UK as well as the US. She can't wear a little, itsy-bitsy, tiny, you-can-hardly-see-it ring, but it is O.K. for the Muslims to continue wearing their that-person-looks-like-a-freak scarves!!!
