These interfering westerners sully the whole objection to these acts of barbarism by their nonsensical talk about 'international (meaning european) law'. What freaking international law in people's country; especially when there can be nor enforcement of in other people's country.

The punishment is excessive and barbaric, as per the Natural Laws governing human behavior. To hell with international laws. They are domineering and dictatorial.

Ya know... the western world CERTAINLY gives infinitely MORE benefit of the doubt to Muslims than they would EVER grant us - heck, liberals spend much of their time defending all things Muslim while sounding off from the mountain tops about each & every offense stemming from western countries, e.g. Abu Grahib, Guantanamo, Israel, collateral civilian deaths, etc... but with each passing day, with each stoning, beheading, terror attack, mosque blown up, riot, and the many rantings of their beloved clerics... it just seems to me that even the staunchest of liberal allies to radical Islam are beginning to see that it IS in reality possible that being "open minded", "accepting", and "tolerant" of Muslim beliefs is utterly futile... they have absolutely no interest in reaching some understanding with ANYone - in fact, many regard peaceful coexistance as an affront to their core beliefs - and proclaim it loudly & proudly by the way... Even those that don't actually COMMIT the terror seem to at the very least condone those that do...

Sure, Christians have committed all sorts of atrocities in their history - but they had to do so by either rationalizing away or outright defying the core tenets of Christianity... And sure, Muslims HAVE managed to live peacefully with neighbors of a different religion, but they had to do so by either rationalizing away or outright denying the core tenets of Islam... the net difference in these two scenerios is what we're seeing in the world today... IMO

'dogsoul',

Re: "That's like saying since we put people in jail for armed robbery, we have no place to point fingers at countries who put people in jail for dancing..."

"Ya get the difference mongo?"

I disagree with this analogy, but you have made a stronger point here than usual, so, credit where due.

Switching Sides: Inside The Enemy Camp

But then in 2000, well before his arrest, something happened which would make Abas question everything he believed in: a fatwa, a religious edict, was issued by Osama bin Laden.

"It should be understood that killing Americans and Jews anywhere found are the highest act of worship and the highest form of good deeds in the eyes of Allah," Simon quotes bin Laden.

Abas and his fellow commanders were ordered to read the fatwa to their men and make sure they carried it out. The others obeyed, but Abas refused. It was his moment of truth. He firmly believed that jihad was to be fought only on the battlefield in defense of Islam; he had always been taught that the killing of civilians had nothing to do with holy war and that it was forbidden.

The fatwa justified killing non-Muslim civilians everywhere.

"Good thing they don't practice stoning in the U.S. for adultery, we would lose half our male population! "

...and about 40% of our female population

I'm a little worried that the liberals will only half-read this story, thinking that they can travel to Iran and the government will get them stoned...

Actually, I'm not worried at all.

Feel free to travel to Iran, liberals, and then party hard!

"We allow the death penalty in this country, so this is yet another topic on which we have no place pointing fingers at others."

And I suppose if some country put people to death for jay walking, or being Jewish you'd say we have no place to point fingers because we put people to death for things like child murder? That's like saying since we put people in jail for armed robbery, we have no place to point fingers at countries who put people in jail for dancing...

Ya get the difference mongo?

Good thing they don't practice stoning in the U.S. for adultery, we would lose half our male population! LOL and this Senator just caught up in the escort scandal, heck even Bill Clintor would be history, but the good thing is they would only be able to stone him once, sad but true! LOL

"What a great idea. We should adopt it here, that way we could get rid of most Republican Senators and PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES!!! "

Only a liberal could make such an obviously hypocritical statement... Do I even have to mention names like ohhhh... I dunno... Bill Clinton, Kennedy, McGreevy, I mean how long of a list do you need before you try to say adultery is a 'Republican' thing?
