socrates392,,, It's vitally important we recognize what our actions have done to create the problems... Creation of the State of Isreal & unbridled blind support of Isreal since 1948... Relocating people away from thier homelands into Isreal started the problem we see today.

Exactly,, Only prober & equal justice wich even we are slip-slidding away from & a democracy that can lead by example & not force..
. Gaza may eventially achieve peace, they have elections & want control of thier security.. Many Middle East countries are becomming more democratic every year, but the violent history of ALL the people of the region including the Jewish since the time of King David & possibly before, makes it highly unlikely we will see it in our life times...

You're not so bright are you? What's the only religion in the world that goes around declaring its the 'religion of peace.' I'll give you a hint, its responsible for 95% of the terrorism going on today and has a pedophile mass murder as the spiritual leader.

-You very funny prrrrrout, oops!
When someone declars to the most peaceful on Earth it does not mean that you come and peee on his feet, he may not react, come and defecate on his turban and he may say nothing, name-call him, and he may start to wake up. You kick him out of his land, and you call him terrorist when he wants to come peacefully back to HIS land, he may still shut up. When you wnat to kill him because it doesn't make sens for him to exist... well you know expect him to take arms and fight back, whatever you call him, and he'd be a happy terrorist!

The Zionist state has succeeded in creating such sub-humans who are putting their blood and souls at stake to retrieve their land. All caused by the incompetence and arrogance of our pityful leaders who pretend that our National Interest implies others' detriment, death.

j-whitman,

okay, fair enough. I think ideologies differ quite widely among terrorists, but as you rightly point out, their tactics are all relatively similar.

Fear is a powerful motivator, but so are freedom and justice. I think this is what you were refering to in your original post, "the better ideology" is the one of free expression and democracy! That is how you combat terrorist groups regardless of their particular denomination, by offering a peaceful and stable alternative.

It is difficult to see how peace, justice and stability will ever return to places like Gaza and Iraq . . .

socrates392,,,
Mexican drug lords use terrorism close to our own border, Hell's Angels & Mongols use terrorism, KKK etc.

It's not a souly Muslem issue by far.. Even the IRA used terrorism, & might use it again. -- Like I said, for a much better understanding, keep it basic.

socrates392,, Seriously though in the long term it can only be defeated by a better ideaology -- in the short term by good police work.

socrates392,,
Oh no, of course not, not inirely... You're correct,, it's much more complex with many opposing ideals in place.. But is is a tactic that works... Like I said we used it here in America, the French Underground used it in WW2,, our own CIA's covert operations even use those tactics in many countries.

Do you really think all "terrorists" have the same ideology? In the most basic sense, perhaps. All terrorists almost by definition want to use terror to further their personal or political agenda. But beyond that I fail to see the similarity between a psycho shooting people on the highway and a Hamas fighter . . . They seem pretty different to me.

There was a time when many thousands of Palestinians crossed into Israel each day for employment. Those Palestinians were able to earn money and put food on the table for their families. Groups such as Fatah ruined this opportunity for Palestinians willing to work in Israel. Why Israel? That is where they could find jobs. Because of Terrorism, Israel closed their border to these people. Now, unemployment and poverty is higher than before. Another intelligent move by the Palestinians.

think calling them terrorist groups is probably a quite wrong. It's a bit like calling our early revolutionist & militias terrorist groups... They are striving for political power.. Denying the State of Isreal is understandable... The rest is fueled by western concepts & missunderstandings of thier issues.

Actually, hamas charter dictates that they created hamas in conjunction with the muslim brotherhood for one reason only, to destroy Isreal

the fighting is hamas wanting to take control of lebanon so it can use lebanon and its resources and territory as a place to launch attacks toward israel

not to mention the support they recieve from syria and iran to accomplish this agenda

lets not be naive, those things these people do go back many years, they are not militia comparable to the creators of the United States, they are terrorists trying to sieze a nation

And the Islamic facists continue in their pusuit to wage war against Israel. I think this is just another chapter in a plan that has been taking shape with Islamic extremists and their counterpart Iran. This is just the beginning.

What could be better than two terrorist groups killing each other? Nothing could be better for Israel. The stupidity of both groups will keep Palestinians from developing their economies and providing a better place for their children. Until peaceful Palestinians get rid of Hamas and Fatah and opt for a forward looking government that choosesw peace with Israel, they will continue to be poor, backwards, and without a country of their own. The Palestinians have more to gain than Israel by establishing peace with Israel. Israel has the money, the technology, and the education that the Palestinians so desperately need.
