"The Legacy of Jihad," a unique, extensive compilation includes Muslim theological and juridical texts, eyewitness historical accounts by both Muslim and non-Muslim chroniclers, and essays by preeminent scholars analyzing jihad war and the ruling conditions imposed upon the non-Muslim peoples conquered by jihad campaigns. The "Legacy of Jihad" reveals how, for well over a millennium, across three continents %u2014 Asia, Africa, and Europe (including Kosovo) %u2014 non-Muslims who were vanquished by jihad wars, became forced tributaries (called dhimmi in Arabic), in lieu of being slain. Under the dhimmi religious caste system, non-Muslims were subjected to legal and financial oppression, as well as social isolation. Extensive primary and secondary source materials, many translated here for the first time into English, are presented, making clear that jihad conquests were brutal, imperialist advances, which spurred waves of Muslims to expropriate a vast expanse of lands and subdue millions of indigenous peoples. Finally, the book examines how jihad war, as a permanent and uniquely Islamic institution, ultimately regulates the relations of Muslims with non-Muslims to this day.

Should southern Serbian province of Kosovo be given a status of an independent state? Former Canadian Ambassador to Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Albania, James Bissett claims this would be another in the series of major mistakes Western powers committed in the Balkans:
For the past seven years, Kosovo has become one of the most dangerous places on Earth. It is the centre of heroin, weapons and human trafficking into Western Europe. Murder and abduction of non-Albanians are daily occurrences. Civil society is non-existent and living standards are equivalent to those of Haiti. There is evidence that Islamic extremists with al-Qaeda connections are a growing presence. In short, Kosovo has all the characteristics of a failed state.
Under the eyes of the UN and NATO, more than 200,000 Serbs, Jews, Roma and other non-Albanians have been expelled from Kosovo. Those who remain are in constant danger. And some of those encouraged by the UN to return have been murdered. The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Agim Ceku, a former leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army, has been accused of war crimes by the Serbs. He is the man who led Croatian forces in 1993 that overran Serbian villages protected by Canadian peacekeepers. When his fighters were driven out, the Canadians found that all of the civilians and animals in the villages had been slaughtered.

Lars,,,, FYI

Since 1948, the Zionists have relentlessly harassed, killed, and chased Palestinians out of their homes, villages, lands and cities to create Israel.
They perpetrated many massacres which terrified Palestinians, forcing them to abandon their homes and properties.
Zionists killed more than 100,000 Palestinians and committed genocide by destroying the existence of Palestinians as a nation and made Palestinian refugees living in exile.
Massacres and massacres, whether six million or one thousand are massacred.
Among these massacres were Deir Yasin, Nasser El Dein near Tiberies, and Dawayma massacre west of Hebron, which were committed in October 1948.

It is convenient for fascist nazi Islamic muslims to forget that the "Grand Mufti of Jerusalem" went to Germany as a guest of Hitler during WWII...and begged Hitler to find the "final solution" to the jewish problem. This same Grand mufti used his influence to raise Two Muslim SS Divisions in Yugoslavia (Kosovo) and Albaina. These divisions were responsible for the murder of almost 1 Million jews, Serbs and Gypsies.

This same Grand Mufti was the maternal uncle of Yassir Arafat! The Mufti's war continues today worldwide.

Singinrick,,, You would deny this is terrorism caused by Isreal --- USS Liberty Attack

At 2.00 p.m. all hell broke loose. Three Mirage fighter planes headed straight for the Liberty, their rockets taking out the forward machine guns and wrecking the ship%u2019s antennae. The mirages were joined by Mystere fighters, which dropped napalm o the bridge and deck and repeatedly strafed the ship. The attack continued for over 20
minutes. In all, the ship sustained 821 holes in her sides and decks. Of these, more than 100 were rocket size.
As the aircraft departed, three torpedo boats took over the attack, firing five torpedoes,
one of which tore a 40-foot hole in the hull, killing 25 sailors. The ship was in flames,
dead in the water, listing precariously, and taking water. The crew was ordered to prepare to abandon ship. As life rafts were lowered into the water, the torpedo boats moved closer and shot them to pieces. One plane concentrated machine-gun fire on rafts still on deck as crewmembers there tried to extinguish the napalm fire. Petty Officer Charles Rowley declares, %u201CThey didn%u2019t want anymore to live.%u201D

singinrick,,,, Again I tell you,, I side with no radical religon, not even yours --- They are all based on myth & are quite disruptive,,, Sometimes it takes years to see the problems.... Christianity has done just as much damage in the past 2,000 years as the Muslims have, & they mainly want to protect thier own people, homes & land.

being poor and being grateful are two different things that have nothing to do about this. But when some people have nothing else to say , say the most dumbest things ever. and albania it may be poor financially but is not poor spiritually we show love and gratitude for our allys. Since Serbs envy albania for having usa in their side cant find no other exuses to say . anyway good luck to everyone , everyone should be able to be free and live in peace thats all Kosovo wants the UN emmisary former Ex president of Finland guarantees all minority serbs free of religion jobs and evrything else in the kosovo and this will not be a full independence but an independece with supervision of the UN.

the same as what they will do in the usa...

don't reward fascist nazi islamic muslim murdering terrorists... send them to hell...

Slobodan Milosevic
It was during those early visits - two in the same week - that Milosevic rocketed to national prominence in a communist federal Yugoslavia buckling under nationalist tensions. He mesmerised the mob by assuring the minority Serbs in the ethnic Albanian province that no one would ever "beat them" again. Milosevic had already installed key aides in control of Serbian national television, and the footage of his speeches electrified Serbia. Milosevic himself, until then a dour and orthodox communist, appeared to realise his gift for rhetoric and the power of nationalism. He never looked back.

Sadly, today Albania is among the most backward and impoverished countries on the European continent, with 25% of the population below the poverty line and as much as 30 to 40% unemployment, with many people engaged in subsistence farming such as in sub-Saharan Africa. It is no surprise, therefore, that Mr. Bush would be popular there.

at ubrew12 whatever you are saying may be true im not gona oppose that but still Albania is a country who doesnt forget favors so we gotta welcome him as the president of our ally and show him respect.not like some countrys like Germany that if it wasnt for America will still be divided in two or for france being destroyed and speaking german still if it wasnt for the Americans. The truth sometimes may be hard but you gotta accept it for what it is.
