The White House, however, expressed confidence in the embattled bank president.

The White House, however, expressed confidence in the embattled Justice Dept head.

The White House, however, expressed confidence in the embattled Rove aide.

The White House, however, expressed confidence in the embattled UN appointee.

The American Pepole, however, have expressed no confidence in the expressed confidences of the embattled White House.

The mess that never stops.

"As Slate's Timothy Noah pointed out last year, D*ick Cheney probably owed his Vietnam War draft deferment to the birth of daughter Liz."

"On October 6, 1965, the Selective Service lifted its ban against drafting married men who had no children."

Nine months later, D*ick Cheney's first child, Elizabeth Cheney, was born: July 28, 1966.

Connect the dots.

But he's a real brave warrior now.

Why is this not on the front page? Another Bush loyalist offering up excuses for being caught doing something unethical.

He is just another Brownie replica. This guy heads up an organization to fight world hunger and giving a $60,000 raise to his girlfriend? Wonder how many kids that would feed?

"The bank's staff representative association, which demanded last week that Wolfowitz explain his actions, have called on Wolfowitz to resign, saying it seemed impossible for the institution, whose mission is to fight global poverty, to move forward "with any sense of purpose under the present leadership."

THIS LITTLE WEASEL WAS ONE OF THE NEOCONS THAT GOT US INTO IRAQ! HANG HIM!

It is not anti Semitic to believe there are millions of other good people in the Middle East TOO!

Even Eisenhower had problems with Israeli groups but he did not let them buy him!

READ AS THEY BRAG ABOUT THEIR INFLUENCE ON OUR GOVERNMENT!
http://www.aipac.org/forms/join_aipacClubs.htm

Founded in 1953 by Isaiah L. "Si" Kenen, AIPAC's original name was the American Zionist Committee for Public Affairs. According to UCLA political science professor and author, Steven Spiegel, "the tension between the Eisenhower administration and Israeli supporters was so acute that there were rumors that the administration would investigate the American Zionist Council. Therefore, an independent lobbying committee was formed, which years later was renamed [AIPAC]." [SPIEGEL, p. 52].[citation needed] Today, AIPAC has over 100,000 members.[1]
Activities and stated goals
AIPAC's stated purpose is to lobby the Congress of the United States on issues and legislation "to ensure that the U.S.-Israel relationship is strong so that both countries can work together" to meet the challenges of "stopping Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, fighting terrorism and achieving peace".[2] AIPAC has been effective in gaining support for Israel among members of Congress and White House administrations.
The New York Times described AIPAC on July 6, 1987 as "a major force in shaping United States policy in the Middle East."

And this last tidbit from the Village Voice:

Now about Shaha Riza's new job. Looks like she'll be flacking for what the State Department calls the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), which is directly under control of Liz Cheney. Here's part of the puffery already produced about that grand scheme of privatizing the Middle East:

Among the hallmark activities being conducted under the auspices of MEPI are the launch of the Middle East Entrepreneurship Training in the U.S. (economic pillar); creation of a Middle East Justice Institute and Regional Campaign Schools for women candidates (political pillar); "Partnership Schools" that offer creative, innovative alternatives for quality and relevant education for children and serve as models for governments as they build schools in the future (education pillar); and regional micro-enterprise and business internships for women (women's pillar).

To date, the administration has committed almost $293 million to MEPI over four fiscal years. This MEPI funding is in addition to the bilateral economic assistance we provide annually to the Middle East.

For that money, we could have built a dammned wall around New Orleans.

And Riza would have caused less damage if she had stayed at the World Bank.

More from the Village Voice:

Wolfowitz and Cheney seem to be making their circle smaller and smaller %u2014 with the move of Wolfowitz's girlfriend to State to work with Cheney's daughter, forging an ever-closer link between the bank's vast funds and the Bush regime's cockamamie schemes.

That this nepotistic, despotistic cycle has resulted in a new responsibilities for Shaha Riza shouldn't be surprising. As the July 2003 Post story noted:

Retired Army Lt. Gen. Jay M. Garner, who was appointed to be the first civilian coordinator in the occupation, said in an interview that he asked Wolfowitz for an expert on Iraqi politics and governance.

Wolfowitz turned not to the roster of career specialists in the State Department's Near Eastern Affairs bureau, but to a political appointee in the bureau: Elizabeth Cheney, coordinator of a Middle East democracy project and daughter of the vice president; she recruited [Riza] a State Department colleague who had worked for the International Republican Institute.

Speaking of Liz Cheney... This from the Village Voice:

"In the world of political appointees, however, no one takes a back seat to Liz Cheney. She's now Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near East Affairs, and her bureau has taken over the issuance of the Weekly Status Report, which charts the Bush regime's "progress" in Iraq and is notable for its extreme fudging of statistics about how many Iraqi cops and soldiers are ready to take over their chaotic country. But Liz Cheney has been a player, by virtue of her daddy, for a few years now. He's simply returning the favor. As Slate's Timothy Noah pointed out last year, *** Cheney probably owed his Vietnam War draft deferment to the birth of daughter Liz."

Aren't we all pretty tired of hearing
something like "mistakes were made" or
"appologies are offered to anyone needing
them". There seem not to be any real men
left in positions of public trust.
Would it be too big a shock to the American people to hear "I did it", "I am responsible",
"I made the mistakes", "I am sorry", "I am a crook". ? It certainly would be refreshing!

Riza's move to the U.S. State Department means that she'll be working with *** Cheney's daughter Liz Cheney, a top official in the key Near East Affairs bureau.

Where do neocons go when they've been "out'ed?" Up, of course.

Birds of a feather...

I love the contrast of the news media. Imus makes front page and gets fired for making disparaging remarks.

Wolfowitz helps to control control the world's economy which can literally lead to life and death on the streets of poorer countries--gets caught with his pants down--and gets spanked (pun intended)for being dishonest.

Mr. Wolfowitz and politicians like him cause more harm and suffering in the world than do idiots like Imus. A double standard between the rich and richer. I'm glad I'm poor at least I know who my enemies are :)

This guy somehow got past the Peter Principal, (pun intended...) which is being promoted until you hit your level of incompetance. After his disastrous work in Iraq, he was given another high profile job, two chances he didn't miss to demonstrate his incompetance.

Another stick on the pile of corrupt republicans...
