Security Council Expresses "Grave Concern" Over Capture Of British Sailors, Calls For Early Resolution
- I don't think they are quoting U.S. intelligence. I think CBS "news" decided to refer to the prisoners as "hostages" at the free will of their own Jewrnalists.
No other news network (accept maybe Associated Press from which CBS gets some of its "news" from) has used this terminology - not even the BBC.
To "cooljcrg": you misread my message. I was ******** on another moron that said there are "800 million Pakistanis" to worry about. :) - Reply to this comment
- henry6543 Average temperature in Iran 76 degrees, average days of sunshine 324, There is technology for the Iranians to use solar power plants to meet their needs. No countries shoud be obtaining nuclear energy with the potential to develop nuclear weapons same goes for anti matter. The issue here is over the British sailors, they Iranians have by all reports commited a international crime, it is not a reason to rush to war with them.Diplomacy has to be given its due course. We have had pilots shot down over China and have not started a war over it and our forces were returned safely to us.

- Henry, I am convinced. You neo-con artists were right all along! Iran is building nuclear weapons, Iraq is building nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons so the murder of 675,000 civilians is justified, ditoo for taking an entire country as hostage. Furthermore, none of your neo-con artist friends got richer from the Iraqi war and the British did not cross into Iranian waters either by accident nor intentionally.

I don't think CBS staff read your comments. The CBS quotes the word "hostages", "according to U.S. intelligence".... - Reply to this comment
- Xerious4, First I think your estimate of 800M Pakistani is way off the mark. But, more importantly, the great majority of the muslims in that coutry are Sunnis and bear not great love for Iran's Shiite majority.
PS - I still view Pakistan as the greatest threat to the Western World. We're one mistake away from a "Taliban" regime in Pakistan, and one with nuckear weapons !!!! - Reply to this comment

(a) Not Iranian, but probably an arab or jew.
(b) Got paid by Associated Press or CBS "news" to hold up the sign for the picture.

-Nice conclusion XDevious4,
Matter of fact, same cook did this strain of Humans, Arab, Jews, Persians.
We're maybe committing some redundance. We say Jews as a seperate class of people, which is not correct. Becaue, Jews referring to a religion doesn't prevent them form coming form Persia, Mesopotemia (Iraq) or simply middle east. We also tend to mix the Arabs with Muslims... Obviously you know there are Christian Arabs and Jewish Arabs, and Druze Arabs... For that matter since Arabs and Persians kinda look alike (namely for the fool holding that sign...) we should say he is a Jewish, a Muslim or a Christian. If we want not to refer to religion in this case, we should say an Israeli, an Arab, or a Persian (Iranian). All in all, they all look alike.
-Now tell me are you mixed up by any chance? - Reply to this comment
- As far as I'm concerned most of the free world is the good guys. China and Russia are improving. Even North Korea is appearing rational. There is something seriously wrong with Iran. It's situation is deteriorating by its own action. But I get it you want to criticize Bush, and the Republicans that don't get it. Apparently all the UN Security Council countries agreed with that rogue menace Bush last week. So they are all the bad guys. Have we attacked Iran? Has anyone attacked Iran? They claim that the world isn't allowing them to develop peaceful nuclear power. even the Russians have said that no one has denied Iran nuclear power, only the means by which they can develop NUCLEAR WEAPONS. Do you really want us to allow a country filled with hate for us and filled with extremists to get those nukes? I would at least like to have some assurance that these extremists can't get their hands on these nukes, especially the extremists in their own military. Do you think that stopping Bush somehow alleviates any of these problems. I guess maybe Edwards or Hillary will say that we don't want to start WWIII after one of our cities is nuked. That's one answer. What about after the second or third nuke what then? Again the world is with Bush on this one.

- "Searing I wouldn't know the truth if I sat on it and it bit me:
Please don't forget your socialist hero Chirac and his abduction of foreign citizens(terrorists) in France, and the abduction of foreign citizens by the leaders of Germany, Italy, Denmark, and EVERY OTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!
But only Bush is treasonous because he isn't a socialist?. ..."

Ummmm ... but you forgot one thing oh misled one.
They are the bad guys.
We're supposed to be the good guys.
Sheesh.
Can't the neo-cons even remember that?

"Republicans are in a unique historical position. They are the first group of people raised on this land, who call themselves Americans, that openly proclaim the virtues of torture, secret prisons, extra judicial abduction, universal surveillance, and dictatorial government."

- Still haven't gotten a response for this:
To CBS News could you please provide us with the criteria you used to refer to the British prisoners being currently held in Iran as "hostages"?
If you cannot provide the answer we would appreciate being forwarded to someone that will. The name of the Jewrnalist involved would also help.
You also published that the in the 1975 "Algiers Accord" Iran signed away the Arvandrud waterway to the Arabs - would would also appreciate your source of information on this since it conflicts with official records.
Thanks. - Reply to this comment
