15 Soldiers Seized As Britons Inspected A Merchant Ship, Officials Say
- --j-whitman
Iran and Britain are not at war, there is no reason or excuse for Iran to be in possession of British military personnel period! Iran is acting way outside recognized international norms related to these type issues. But then there is little normal about Iran and its extreme postures and provocative activities! - Reply to this comment
- Those links are irrevalent ???? They are irrelevent to those who don't want answers -
- The last time it happened (around 20 years ago), the captives where marched around, 3 days later they where released after issuing a simple appology. - Reply to this comment
- Tweb,,, Even the term Persian Gulf is a sore spot for many, that's still a dispute.. I'm not saying what happened is right,,,, But it is a shared problem with UAE, Iraq & Iran....

Those links are irrevalent! The simple fact is coutries makes mistakes all the time when their military make mistakes and cross over into the other countrys territory, it happens all the time, but since those countries are not at war with each other they deal with it diplomatically and resolve it peacefully! Rarely does the affected country capture and hold military personnel from other countries unless its extreme Iran or North Korea! Iran and Britain are not are war, this is an outrage! - Reply to this comment
- Tweb,,, Iran has been moving towards democracy faster than any country including the UAE (Which openly condons slavery & beheadings even today) --- This is not the Iran of 20 years ago, plane & simple.... But then Bush did use 15 year old intel & contrived to take us to war in Iraq.

- pattipace7,,, Bush is surely no Churchil,,, Iraq is not WW2 --- A military Victory is out of the picture completely.... So says General Petreaus & many others including leading republicans & Gates, our Defense Secretary.

Tensions are high, its time to deal with the facts only! Iran is not at war with Britain! A simple warning is all that was required. Capturing and holding military personnel from another state is an act of war! Plain and simple! Iran has crossed the line and Iran has crossed the line repeatedly! Its only a matter of time before people get fed up and give Iran what Iran is seemingly craving, a good a-s-s whipping! You know how kids like to play, kids keep sticking their hand in the fire and pulling it out before it burns them, then one time they leave that hand in the fire too long and ouch!! Its coming Iran! Keep sticking your hand in that fire! - Reply to this comment
- "Iran is actually progressing towards democracy faster than any country in many regions including faster than the UAE, without interferance from Bush." Posted by j-whitman
True. They are only 50-some years behind because Eisenhower upset their progress by overthrowing their fledgling democracy in 1953 and installed the tyrant Shah.
Just another one of those little-known dastardly CIA deeds that added to the bonfire of hate towards the U.S. - Reply to this comment
- Who was it that stated: There is only one answer to defeat and that is victory? It was either President Bush or Winston Churchill, someone better explain this reality to Ms Pelosi!

- Thank you, Ahmadinejad. Your stupid antics are only continuing to prove YOU are the danger.
This isn't a "neocon" ploy; if anybody believes those guys are in bed with Iran's leaders they are out of their minds. Iran is a danger, they have made loud threats, now they're pulling stuff like this. Good grief, what WILL it take?! America, nor President Bush, is the instigator here and it is not due to the tussle in Iraq!
Too many news sources, including LIBERAL ones, are in agreement re: their terrorism-sponsoring history. Back in 1979 when a Islamic group took over Iran, Iran took Americans hostage. Jimmy Carter's noble attempts to free the hostages proved ineffective, but that only proves how inhuman these Iranian nuts are. He tried, it didn't work. And I hate to throw in the religion, but it's the truth.
And the Democratic-led Congress is bright enough to see the reality of that situation too. Iran cannot be trusted and they're only leading to their own destruction. The dude must be imbalanced, most people aren't keen on committing suicide. But then, most of us aren't "suicide bombers". - Reply to this comment

just so you know.
I am about as white as you can get.
I am just wondering if we would be having this conversation if 9/11 had been nukes instead of planes. The fact of the matteri s that if we dont stop them now next time it may be. How would all of you guys feel if ten million americans died in a terrorist attack? You see while we do care about civilians in other countries. These terrorists are cowards who run from our soldiers and attack our civilians. Is that right? If you think so you need to be strapped to the bomb we shoot up Irans A**.
POINT BLANK
IF YOU WANT TO FIGHT A WAR. THEN FIGHT OUR SOLDIERS.
Is that to much to ask?
I mean come on they even kidnap contractors and journalist people just over there working to support their families. These guys are the biggest cowards the world has ever seen. And all you liberal tree huggin bums want to turn your head and not see it until its to late. Get a clue man. What did the people in NY do to deserve what happened. Did Osama no know where the white House was? Where Ft. Bragg was? Where norad is?
They new they were just being BIT*HES.

- xevious4, you must have your bigotry mixed up with your emotions.
I am Jewish and i am a LIBERAL. I hate this war, and i hate just about everything Bush has done to destroy this nation. Stop pointing fingers at Jews. If you didn't know by now (appears you don't) a vast majority of Jews are democrats. Bet you didn't know that now did you. - Reply to this comment
