calliope6 - there's also Cheney warning Pakistan to get it's act together on dealing with Al Qaeda OR ELSE THE DEMOCRATS will cut off funding. Sort of a "good cop/bad cop" routine. Which logically then leads to the realization that this means he just acknowledged that the Democrats will be tougher on fighting terrorism that this Administration has been.

I was thinking about the U.S. Government and acknowledge mistakes were made but I still don't want our Government to fail, I still want our Government to do well and be successful. Then I started thinking about my Iranian friends here in the U.S., the ones I went to college with and the merchants I do business with. I love all my Iranian friends, we all have a lot of fun and they are cool to hang out with! But at the risk of stereo typing my Iranian friends, they all have one thing in common. They are all HOT-HEADS!! My Iranian friends have a shorter temper than my Italian friends. If you didn't know them well you would think they were crazy! If the U.S. attacks Iran I have a feeling the Iranians is the U.S. will be a problem! I think the Iranians in the U.S. will do stupid reckless things. The U.S. had better consider the Iranian backlash is the U.S.!! Iranians are buck wild and do crazy sh*t big time!! If the U.S. attacks Iran I know they will freak out and do all kinds of crazy sh*t!! Its just their personality, Iranians are very passionate about what they believe in, religion or otherwise!

The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life. Theodore Roosevelt

The TERRORISTS (whomever they are or where ever they may be) have already won against the United States.
We are no longer the GREAT free society that existed before this Administration took power. We are so free that we must feel like prisoners.....produce ID's every time you fly, sell, buy or enter buildings. Every American citizen will be in a goverment database in the near future (including their DNA), and maybe even some of the illegals that are here.

There is an agenda for this effort and it is not making us secure. If it were, then why is so much effort going into the American Union to have open borders with Mexico and Canada?

Iran is a headline stealer from the real issues at home. If truth be known, Iran probably has already purchased nuclear weapons from Russia.

karlimhof:

I recently saw the entire list of 'coalition' countries and the amount of "forces" they sent to Iraq, (I can't remember which news site it was). Most of it was an absolute joke, (as you referred to earlier).

I swear, a piddly-diddly country could send in a boy-scout troop and a contingent of janitors and they'd be referred to as part of the "coalition"!

Pathetic!

CBS NEWS BLACKOUT ALERT!! !The number of crucially important stories that CBS (and the rest of the mainstream news) is blacking out is growing daily right now in order to promote "Bush War # 3." While CBS presents discredited "nuke news" about Iran as headlining "fact," here are some stories that have been systemmatically blacked out this week: 1. Five top US generals announced that if Bush gave the order to attack Iran, they would quit as the intelligence has been cooked and this war would be devastating to the middle east AND the US. 2. Seymour Hersh, celebrated investigative journalist, revealed Bush's plan to strike Iran within 30 minutes of his order - the public and Congress having NO say. Hersh also revealed that the White House is actually funding Al Qaeda fighters to foment trouble in Iran. 3. Facts emerging from the Libby trial show that Bush and Cheney were likely directly involved in leaking a CIA agent's name to the press in order to silence criticism of the dubious "evidence" for war against Iraq. All of this should be headlines. So where are they in CBS?

"To start a war with Iran would be a colossal mistake."

scott4261:

I agree, but everything that this president has done in the past 6 years has been a colossal mistake!

The best George W could wish for is a diplomatic solution to Iran, similar to the one being forged with N. Korea.

the coalition forces will be in iraq

posted by lard008

what coalition forces do you refer to? oh yeah, 150 bulgarians and 200 poles from Cheney's "new Europe"! A joke - and besides the brits are also on the way home if you didn't notice.

I think with this dwindling "coalition", you better sign up to help defend america - you know, fight over there, instead of here. Go for it - lard !

Ahmadinejad really has very little power after the last elections in Iran. And in case the nutjob chorus doesn't know: the majority of Iran's population is under 35 and very westernized. To start a war with Iran would be a colossal mistake.

And if you need any further convincing, look at how well the wars are going in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Sadly, we might have to live with a nuclear Iran in the near future.

The U.S. surely does not have the resources to commit to an attack on Iran. Airstrikes alone would not be totally effective, and all they would do is temporarily suspend Iran's enrichment activities. Their resolve to move forward would only be strengthened if we attempt a half-*** attack of any kind.

We also risk the fact that Russia and China will come to Iran's aid, militarily speaking. If that happens, the result would be worse than any single potential terrorist attack with a 'dirty' bomb. Imagine several hundred nuclear warheads raining down on all parts of the world because of the arrogance of the West against Iran!

If the U.S. redirected it's budget to sealing our borders, inspecting EVERY shipping container, as well as security at every public transportation hub in this country, then worrying about a nuclear Iran wouldn't be neccessary. Kill the tax cuts of 2002, redirect our soldiers out of Iraq and put them on the borders and the ports of our own country. Basically, lets get our country's priorities straight for once!

to fend off the credible threat posed by the US & Israel.
Posted by tuckerndfw

Yes, but that threat has existed for a long time. It only could become a reality when neocon forces gained power in American & Israel (likud, now katima) at the same time.

What is happening before our eyes was not born yesterday.
