PM Blair is pulling the British out of Iraq in a few weeks putting even more of a burden on the US. When does GW get the message the US can't do this alone, his buddy is even leaving him now? It's time to fold this bad hand, reshuffle the deck and deal a new one!

Do you truly believe that our presence in Iraq is this altruistic? Do you really believe that once we show the Islamic's the true path that they'll renounce Islam? Wow, I want what you're taking!

I can't in good conscience let this stand. There are several people who post many times more than myself and others who are not in agreement with the Bush doctrine. However, you attack me. Sure, sometimes my words are strong, but you said nothing about lars008, lieberman181, notblue, bigwhtpony, singingrick and others. Each of those individuals post many more times than I do and their rants are never of substance.

If you think that I am not presenting a reasonable argument, please feel free to challenge me. However, you do not have the right to jump in and attack simply because you do not agree with my politics.

I totally disagree with what is happening to our country and I fully intend to be heard. Within just the past year several million American citizens have come to realize the truths taht I and others express here. The polls clearly indicate that.

You are simply another republican.

"response to that (9/11/01) is apparently to just sit on our *** twiddling our thumbs . . ."

"Iraq is #14 in the world in terms of oil production."

There are many responses to crimes (events of 9/11/01) that do not involve invading other nations.

The only thing invading Afghanistan accomplished is oil companies have a new pipeline across W. Afghanistan to the brand new oil terminal in Pakistan.

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11/01.

China, Russia, France, Japan and others had contracts with Saddam to develop Iraqi oil fields when the sanctions were lifted. Before they could be lifted, ExxonMobil & British Petroleum (excluded under Saddam) ordered Bush & Blair to invent a reason to overthrow Saddam so they could get their hands on those oil fields.

Saddam also reportedly intended to price Iraq's oil in euro's rather than dollars. An idea, that if it catches on, will officially bankrupt the US. The US dollar's value is based on oil, not gold.

The rest is history.

Iraq's production is irrelevant. Iraq's reserves (2nd largest in the world) is what oil companies wanted to control. And, now ExxonMobil and British Petroleum control those reserves.

And will continue to control them now that US & UK taxpayers were stupid enough to finance their hostile takeovers.

The US & UK do not historically invade other nations to overthrow dictators or "free" anyone. And, we still have not done so.

The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life. Theodore Roosevelt

notblue........... exactly.....

If we were to abandon the middle east to the radicals the price eventually payed in lives and dollars would make our sacrifice now seem miniscule.
