I agree with that! The Russians supplying Iran and China for that matter with advanced weapons staggers the imagination. In the case of Iran with sanctions being considered, I don't understand Moscows logic, the cute answer the sanctions are not in place yet indicates greed from weapons sales was the order of the day there! Doing the right thing versus profit, profit seems to always win out!

While Putin is a disagreeable guy to say the least, he's right on this one. Bet George has got wood! His goals are coming to fruition; WW3 is in the offing! By '08, obviously, it'll be "contrary to America's best interests" to change parties or power, so you can forget about Hillary or Obama or Rudy or anybody else. Hold a presidential election when America is on the brink of destruction?! Of course not. Martial law, everybody. Well, ok, far-fetched, but not much more so than anything else Bush had done.

Anyone who supplies anti-aircraft weapons to Iran should keep his trap shut.

The UN created and recognized Israel's right to exist. Every recognized nation has a right to defend itself! Israel is a UN recognized nation, get over it! If you attack a nation and that nation kicks your *** and takes your land then maybe you shouldn't have rolled the dice and attacked them! I repeat, once you attack a nation that nation has a right to respond any way it wants, the attacker can't decide how they get their *** kicked! Israel's newly acquired land is called the spoils of war! The aggressor has no rights, only the rights given to it from the mercy of the victor! the facts on the ground dictate policy and Israel can't keep giving back land until the aggressor gets its attack working correctly! Are you serious?

The majority of Israelis chose to be there and have citizenship elsewhere.

Israelis whining about the conditions in Israel are pathetically and darkly humorous. They remind me of the joke about the guy who threw himself on the mercy of the court due to his being an orphan after murdering his parents.

If Israelis don't like it in Israel, they can always go back to their real homes.

"Once a country is attacked, the rules change . . ."

(comment about rhetoric & Iran supporting terrorists)

Posted by tbweb at 03:13 PM : Feb 10, 2007

==============

Israel has not legally acquired any additional land, nor has Israel gained legal control over Jerusalem (under UN rules):

UN Security Council Resolution 242, Nov. 22, 1967 (following the "Six Day War"):

"Emphasizing the inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by war. . ."

http://www.yale.edu/lawweb/avalon/un/un242.htm

Second comment response:

The US was supporting Iraqi terrorists attempting to overthrow Saddam. Those same terrorists are now what we call Iraq's "government.

The US is currently supporting Iranian terrorists attempting to overthrow Iran's government.

You assert that Iran is doing nothing more than what the US has historically done and is doing, so what is your point? And, how would a "strong UN" (assuming a UN that represensts more than Zionists' interests) correct that?

The rules the UN laid down for Israel should be followed for sure. But Israel has been repeatedly attacked, the 6 day war for example. Once a country is attacked, the rules change and all bets are off the table! Israel is defensive and in survival mode. People get paranoid and act crazy when they are constantly under attack like that. It's not like the Sun is shining over there and Israel is operating under ideal conditions doing bad things, Israel is under daily attack!

Do you listen to the rhetoric from the Iranian government? The Iranian government openly advocates crossing any countries borders, breaking that countries laws and exporting terror against its enemies there, namely the US in this case. The Iranian government denies the Holocaust and even invites ex-Klan leadership to its meetings! The Iranian government advocates wiping a UN member, Israel off the map! The Iranian governments official slogan is "Death to America!". Why are you ignoring the obvious? Iran is a clear and present danger to the world!!

tbweb,

Repeating your argument does not make it a better argument.

If the UN was the strong organization you wanted it to be, Saddam would still be in power, Bush, Blair, and most of their supporters would be in prison in Brussels awaiting trial for "war crimes.

And, Israel would be confined to the borders the UN established in 1947 with UN Resolution 181. Presumably, many of her former Prime Ministers and officials, including military officers, would be serving time in prison for their war crimes.

Yet, you seem to argue that what you really want is total Zionist domination since you do little more than parrot Zionist created and promoted propaganda.

You cannot have it both ways.

When you look at how the Soviet Union fell apart with all those nuclear weapons in play, President Putin had a lot to deal with and with what he inherited I think he has done a good job bringing Russia back from the brink. The debate about Saudi Arabia attacking the US is not credible. Just because a citizen is from a country and does bad things doesn't mean you blame the entire country unless you can prove the government was involved. No one believe the Saudi goverment was involved. The American people and political process will take care of and correct our government problems, its just slow.

The "nuclear clock" is always ticking and always will be.

There is no urgency whatsoever when it comes to an optional, preemptive invasion. Iran poses no peculiar or unique threat to anyone.

Anyone who insists an optional decision must be hurried is obviously attempting to prevent rational discussion or debate.

It is the same tactic used by the same people who rushed into the unnecessary & unlawful invasion & occupation of Iraq.

Those who advocate preemptive war should be the first to go to the front lines, and they should have all their assets confiscated to help pay for their "war."

If they consider it so urgent and necessary, they need to put their own lives and money where their mouths are.

I didn't agree with the invasion of Iraq, just the removal of Sadaam. I think the UN should be rebuilt from the ground up to address the new world order. A strong UN is the only realistic solution to the worlds problems. But the UN must be an organization every country can trust and have confidence in.

The only country that attacked the U.S. was Saudi Arabia. The U.S. did not retaliate against its oil partner because of greed.
Putin runs an Al Capone type democracy. He's allied himself with parts of the axis of evil. O.K. Whoopdee Doo. That's our problem. Perhaps we should model our government after the Netherlands and not be so barbaric. Perhaps we can learn from the Europeans about educating our children. Perhaps we need to pay attention to the rest of the free world and pull in the reigns on the cave man mentality of the power elite - those that enslave through trickery and deceit the American people for their own gain, by putting fear into our hearts. Go home dictator Bush. Washington is a democracy. Bring on Al Gore who should have been our President.

tbweb,

The UN does not represent any member state's interests, it is supposed to ensure world peace. And, with the exceptions of the US & Israel's continual aggressions, does a fairly good job of maintaining world peace.

Iraq was contained, posed no threat to anyone and the invasion was totally unnecessary. Which is what the UN said more than once.

And, if the UN was the powerful organization you claim you wanted it to be, then it would be fighting against US forces in Iraq. US forces in Iraq are no different, legally speaking, than Saddam's forces when they were fighting in Kuwait.

You seem to want it both ways.

The process to fix this problem must be allowed to run its course, everyone knows what has to be done. Do you have a faster solution that's realistic?

The nuclear clock is ticking in Iran, the world needs to act quickly. The nuclear clock is not ticking in the US. The US is not avocating wiping any country off the map like the Iranian President!

Ever conversed with a 28%'er (nazi lover), one that still supports the Neocon/Bush/Cheney agenda of uparalled aggression against American's and everybody else in the world.? I did for the first time recently. I would swear on a stack of Bibles that I was talking with a Zombie, or, the living dead.

Mistakes were made for sure, but we have to allow time for our political process to fix that. Lucky for us were not communist and have elections that allow the fixing to take place.

The Iranians aren't communists either. And as for fixing our handing Iraq over to Iran, there's no going back on that one, bub.
