Tannhauser;

The problem is that to many of the bad guys are right here in our own country, and running it in the ground. I don't know about you but I would like to be an American citizen who can travel any where in the world, and be respected for that. Unfortunately, in many countries that is no longer possible because of the disrespect we have shown citizens of those other countries in what ever way, of the many we have done them wrong. I for one don't want the United States ruling the world, and forcing our lying religious beliefs on others, any more than I want others to force their beliefs on me. You righteous bigots who think you are all right all of the time, are the reason why this country is in the shape it is today, and so scorned by many foreign countries. Lets face it this country is almost broke, and when we can't buy off all of the countries we are now, they will turn on us like rabid dogs, if we don't start trying to bring about world peace instead of world strife. Our dollar isn't worth half what is was 20 years ago, and if their was a terrible world event to take place that drove oil sky high, it would be worth even less.

This isn't just about killing people for a crime committed, when we kill even one innocent person to get at a perpetrator, we become the perpetrator.

There is a world out there, and if we can't take care of our own, what the heck do we have any right to be telling others how to do it.

No - I don't believe they deserved to die. I believed they died because of our unwavering support of Israel's policies. We should just mind our own business.

Just who do you think would be expected to go in and save them if a serious threat came along%u2026?
Why should it be America?

What would jesus do? Jesus is dead man. I am just pointing out that you can't have musslim extremeist if there are no musslims. Obviously the second phase would be the construction of concentration camps and incinerators. In order to Iliminate Musslim terrorist you would have to eliminate all musslims no exceptions. This is doable. Doesn't mean its right. I like to give Bush credit for not taking the easy path.

I'm not talking about isolationism, I'm talking about self governance, self security, and self preservation. Our country has enough problems itself that we need to take care of first - not instilling democracy on those who wish we would all die and rot in hell. In our country education, health care, long term care for the elderly, and improving our own aging infrastructure.
It is also not our place to take the lead in the response to aggression - that's the UN's job. If they decide to do nothing, that no problem of ours. How did things shake out before the world wars? Why didn't anyone intervene then? Is this a failed world now, because of inaction then?
I missed where the Rwandan national flew a plane into a Belgian building. Can you tell me when and where that happened?
Please also do me the favor of not qouting stodgy old geezers. It's the career politicians that are burying this country today - nothing they spout is of any significance to me.

People on the Right continue to deny and defend the situation with Bush and his Administration. They have proven OVER and OVER that all they are truly good at is LYING. They have lied so much that anyone believing anything put out by the Reich Propaganda Ministry is not dealing with a full deck. Seriously folks anyone still buying into the Neocon Fascist view of the Middle East and how to fight Terrorist will buy just about anything.

%u201CThe Islamic extremists hate our guts because America won't mind it's own business. They want to be able to fight Israel on their own terms without us intervening.%u201D

Good Lord.
So%u2026 if I am reading your words correctly%u2026 you honestly believe that those who died in those embassy bombings%u2026 (not to mention the thousands who died on 911), somehow deserved their fate because we meddling Americans won%u2019t mind our own business and just let them destroy Israel?

Belgium, Norway, and Sweden%u2026
Just who do you think would be expected to go in and save them if a serious threat came along%u2026?

Joesal,,, I agree we need to get back to the war on terror -- Iraq being the center of it according to Bush, has been totally lost -- So that obviously means,, We need someone as President who actually knows how to fight terrorism/

"Belgium - never involved in any international conflicts"???

Surely you jest? Possibly you could start with Rwanda. You can do your own research. Thank you very much.

Secondly - Isolationism [for the US] is indeed a great debate - long has been. But let's understand, that your anger lies not with one political party:

Senator Robert Byrd (D) on Unilateral action in Iraq on September 6, 1996: %u201CTo those who would doubt the necessity of the actions by the president, one should pose the question as to what the consequences would be in the face of American inaction. First, clearly, no other country would take the lead. The signature of the current era is such that response to aggression will not be taken up by other powers in the absence of American leadership, unfortunately. This was the case in the invasion of Kuwait. It was the case in Bosnia when, after several years of Western inaction in the face of ethnic atrocities in Bosnia, only the United States, only the United States, could bring about a credible, effective implementation of peace in that sorry part of Europe. . . . It is American leadership which is decisive to the peace in these regions..

Sec. of State Albright Defends U.S. 1998 --- ''A few dozen hecklers'' will not deter the United States from its mission in Iraq, Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said today.

You have to love these comment sections. Show just a little enthusiastic patriotism when our military employs force and the true face of liberals comes screaming out.

It's like come on kiddies, aren't you late for class? Time to get back to the brain washing. Did you finish last nights homework assignment - Coca Cola's reign of terror on the third world?

Time to grow up and leave the bubble. This is the real world and there are people that want you dead. The U.S. is a force of good in the world. We will hunt the bad guys down wherever they try to hide and kill them first.
