"Yes, indeed. And if religion were not here to help encapsulate this wisdom, where would we all be?

Posted by finewoven at 07:05 PM : Dec 11, 2006"

Sorry to inform you that we would have been a lot better off without the religions, which only 'encapsulate' ignorance.
The religions have poisoned and weaken the minds with fantastic imaginings and unrealities.

The reason the Scientific Age, say, has managed to so easily brush religions aside for the most part is that religions have never offered authentic, effective and useful knowledge.

And for every interesting ideas that religions may offer their victim minds, religions' lessons in vengeance, violence, and destructiveness are always multiple times greater than any good ideas in religion.

The net result is that religions have been very very bad for the mind, bad for the individual, and bad for the societies.

I pity the number of those who have been so brainwashed with the destructive lessons of religion that they pose a threat not just to themselves; they threaten the whole planet.
That is just how bad the destructive lessons of religion have been for mankind.

I especially like what Eisehower did for the people to get an understanding of what it was like.

One cannot sweep the Holocaust of the Jews under the rug. Maybe that these folks don't want to have it out in the open, because it will bring up negative feelings.

"In Europe you can freely question, ridicule, and deny Jesus Christ. The same is true for the prophet Muhammad, and nothing will happen to you," he said in his speech.

Newster1:
Well put. But I feel that be it 1 million or 10 million persecuted and murdered... the fact that this Iranian leader is using David Duke to bring a point home about the Nazis shows how far out of touch he is with the American people and the world in general. How much credibility does he think David Duke has with anyone. Who will he be speaking to and how intelligent could they be. In essence to elaborate on your point who cares what David Duke has to say but I am glad that CBS news reported this 'cause it goes to show that these people will do anything to try to gain public support and further condemnation on Isreal. Even if it means metaphoraically speaking holding a conference on love and having the devil as their main speaker.

Well stated Bunzzee and Agnim, those who criticize the conference, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and David Duke for creating this forum have probably stood by and said nothing of the inhumanity occurring right here, against Native Americans, Blacks, Asians, etc.

Yes, the Holocaust did occur, but what appears bias, on the one hand, the mountain of resentment and disdain towards Duke, while on the other, a rationalization when Michael Richards [a Jew] made an insensitive derogatory remark to two young black males reminding them of a time when blacks weren%u2019t allowed to speak out of fear of being tied to branch upside down and lynched.

And some white viewers got a real kick out this one, criticizing how black comedians make racist remarks about whites, which I%u2019ve never heard one black comedian make an insidious remark about the Holocaust or 9/11.

But they are outrage; because Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has held a conference on whether the Holocaust actually happened speak of a %u201Cdouble-standard%u201D.

White America can deny European settlers exploited, betrayed, raped, and annihilated 90+million Native Americans, but vocalize their outrage towards Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for questioning the Holocaust.

The KKK, which had been responsible for numerous acts of degradation in the form of lynching, church bombings, and random violent attacks against blacks, but, however, if blacks dare mention these atrocities existed, they are dwelling on the past, they need to stop blaming whites for events in the past, or the accuracy of these events are highly suspect.

Duke who has adamantly and openly supported the violence and degradation against blacks in America, the lynching, bombings, church burnings, segregation, etc., for a number of years, which I%u2019m willing to bet very few of the posters have ever vehemently spoke out against.

"Sick" is definitely the word to describe all this. I hope the surviving Holocaust survivors will speak up. As for David Duke, he should be denied re-entry into America. Iran has plenty of rocks for him to live under.

What????

Has Mr. Duke been under a log for the past year? I guess he hasn't heard about the Muhammad cartoons -- and leave it to CBS news not to point out his ignorance.

Anyone who has heard or read the material that Mr. Duke discharges from his cloaca of a mind will have no difficulty determining that he is an ignoramous. The fact that he frequently wears a suit in public and routinely brushes his teeth is merely a front to make you forget what all his friends and supporters look like ---- rednecks, bigots, and other uneducated scum.

How it is this Duke guy going to Iran becomes a NEWS story on CBS?? he's a has been who never was.
There is no doubt the holocaust HAPPENED, there's more than ample proof it did, including bones, clothing, teeth, photos and all the rest, what *I* question however may be a minor issue, but is still my "question" or observation- and that is the rather impossible or unlikely number cited of nine MILLION.
You show a photo of a crowd to people and ask them to guess how many are in that crowd and typically they guess very high, such as the "Million man march" remember that? turned out to be far less than a million and probably barely 1/10th that.

The media and police also estimate crowd size by sampling and multiplying the sample area. I suspect the "nine million" was probably closer to ONE million or two. yes, one person is too many so let us not get into all of those issues and whether it's one million five or nine doesn't matter a lot, but I feel this number has been manipulated and fooled with to gain further sympathy, foreign aid and all the rest and I dont buy the nine million figure.
Show me a complete LIST of independently verified names and identities that anyone can check as factual and I might believe it, but as far as I know we have been led like sheeple all these decades to accept at face value "nine million."

Just wanted to tell the protesters in Iran to keep fighting for your rights. Right now is the time to rise up in a peacful manner. Your government has had its hands tied by your president. How hypocritical it would be if it were to critize us for human rights abuses right before he violates your human rights. Your abassaador said the other day to some students "Do i not have a right to free speach" unfortunatley he does in america but you don't in Iran. Demand your rights. Stand up and demand them! Remember all goverments draw their power from the people. Your government is what you choose to make of it. It is time to get rid of these loosers who have tarnished the great history of Persia. You did it once with the Shaw You can do it again. Good Luck.

An Open Letter to David Duke:
Dear Mr. Duke, Since you have been compelled to travel all the way to Tehran in order to enjoy the benefits of Free Speech, please consider staying there so as to further bask in the glories of true Liberty. I , for one, would be happy to subsidize your status as a permanent resident of Iran.

Sorry Johann Teufel,

I went to your site, but just didn't know how to read Euro-American. Maybe I'll take a language course in that same school where you learned that the Holocaust is a myth.

Yes, indeed. And if religion were not here to help encapsulate this wisdom, where would we all be?

Then again, how many people do you know that are more or less bored with philosophy? And what does that say about the state of affairs when the "love of wisdom" is so disregarded?
