patriotic9-I watched those web sites you posted. one is loaded with pro-al qaeda comments and the other has numerous videos obviously designed to discourage Americans, since it is loaded with videos of americans being snipered and killed in numerous ways. after looking carefully at your writing (I have some language expertise), I wonder if you may be a member of the Islamic Army incognito?

Why arn't the Iraqis standing up? If they really want a secular government, all we have to do is allow the masses to arm. They would stop the insurgents by themselves. Why arn't they telling us where the insurgents are operating from and who they are. Given the activity they must know something. Are we sure this isn't Vietnam all over again? What do the people really support. Why haven't we acted against Sadir City? Arewe afraid of upsetting the anti-government radicals?

Why are you like that?Is that only you or your OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE DISORDER is the representation of the ENTIRE REPULICAN PARTY?You Republicans seem to have serious MENTAL ISSUES.Your leader BUSH,LOL,I don't have to say anything about him.The whole world knows. What about your CONGRESSMAN FOLEY?Man he is really great for the REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP.Congressman FOLEY has proven that the REPUBLICAN PARTY is really the PARTY of RELIGIOUS,HOLY,GOD-LOVING PEOPLE just like those GOD LOVING,HOLY PREISTS who SODOMIZE and SEXUALLY MOLEST young little boys in the SAME CHURCHES where they teach people AGAINST HOMOSEXUALITY and HOMOSEXUAL BEHAVIOUR.CONGRESSMAN FOLEY had also voted AGAINST THE HOMOSEXUAL'S RIGHT OF MARRIAGE just like those PRIESTS.I can't wait to see your same message posted again.More you do it,more REPUBLICAN YOU'LL BE.

Would I send my son to this war? You might ask would I send him to WW II? Or Vietnam? Maybe you would distinguish those conflicts and whether you would send your son to fight in them. But that question is misdirected in a very important way: I can't command my son to go to war. He has to make that choice. So the better question would be: would I volunteer to fight in Iraq, WW II, Vietnam? Would I volunteer to fight in any war? Respond if drafted? I don%u2019t know. I'm not equivocating, only addressing that it is a hypothetical. As a hypothetical, I can say, sure I'd fight. But I have nightmares of battle (from my past life as a Jacobite). So how do I feel toward those who do volunteer? Impressed and maturely knowing that many things go into their decision. But I do strongly believe that a country who can't find those men is doomed. The fact that we can find them is one reason why I say there is no failure in Iraq. Objectively, I also believe it for other reasons. An attempt to establish democracy in the Middle East is a bold, brilliant, noble effort, facing a high chance of failure. That's why I greatly respect and admire those who have made the attempt--the Bush administration. They have been resolute, something I have not seen in my lifetime. They may not succeed, for reasons outside their control or fault: traitors on the home front, being a big one. But now those traitors have apparently occupied the high ground. Yet... we're still in Iraq. Why?... I'm waiting.

Absolutely, you are right.I don't know who gives advises to Bush.If you read the book written by Gen.TOMMY FRANKS names THE AMERICAN SOLDIER,You'll be surprised to know that whne BIN LADEN was in Afghanistan Bush didn't want to send more troops to Afghanistan because he wanted to save troops for IRAQ which had nothing to do with 9/11 and that strategy resulted in the escape of BIN LADEN from TORA BORA mountains which military later accepted was the result of LACK OF ENOUGH TROOPS ON THE GROUND.

Unfortunately, patriotic_9, our government doesn't seem to think Bin-Laden is a big enough enemy to bother with anymore. Bad mistake, IMO, and wrong, since the fact remains he helped kill 3,000 Americans in 2001.

Absolutely. Here's another decent news/translation source (IMO):

http://www.iwpr.net/index.php?iraq_ipm_index.html

They translate articles from sources worldwide, there's an Iraq-specific area on the site.

"a good look into the arab mind"
I think it's not actually arab mind but Islamic mind. They don't care who is ARAB and who is NON-ARAB.If we see the video of a WHITE AMERICAN ALQAEDA TERRORIST named ADAM GADAHN on that website, the only difference between him and an ARAB ALQAEDA is that he is MORE RADICAL and MORE ENEMY OF UNITED STATES and his fellow WHITE AMERICANS then any ARAB ALQAEDA.

Thanks for the link patriotic9. Although there's some controversy surrounding MEMRI's pro-Israel viewpoint, the stories I saw on the site didn't appear overtly biased. It's hard to find good sources - I tend to go for the "cumulative effect" myself; read a story then check a few other places to see how it 'leans'.

Just a couple thoughts....

You are well come.We are screwed in Iraq and afghanistan because these NON-SENSE REPUBLICANS have gone in there with out knowing them and their war tactics and culture. When BIN LADEN was planning attack against our nation they were wasting the time of whole nation in deciding whether BILL CLINTON had ORAL-*** with MONICA LEWINSKY or not.

Our govt and those responsible to fight against ISLAMIC RADICALS should watch ISLAMIC WEBSITE MONITORS on www.memri.org and JILL CAROL STORIES on CHRISTIAN SCIENCE MONITOR website to understand about ISLAMIC TERRORISTS and their tactics.

I as a TAX PAYER need to know how many hundreds of my country men and women in UNIFORM get killed every day in a war which is financed by my tax money.
When a U.S Military convoy passed through a narrow street in BAGHDAD surrounded by houses on both the sides gets attacked by ROADSIDE BOMBS ,THEN SUICIDE CAR BOMBS and at the same time get shot at from the houses by BULLETS and ROCKETS,if we are told that one or two sodiers got wounded and their names were kept in secret,I know govt and our media tells lie. There is no use to be in a STATE OF DENIAL.We are a DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY and DEMOCRACY means GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE.We ourselves are government,so there is no reason this CENSORSHIP on war news can be JUSTIFIED.
