Enlisting Al Gore, Blair Calls For 'Decisive Action' On Climate Change
- This is quite ironic that the day Blair announces the direction his country is taking to help with Global Warming, our leader is talking about gay marriage. If this was not so serious a matter, it would be hilarious. Just shows how in touch our leadership really is. While other leaders tackle the real issues facing their countries and our globe, Mr. Bush continues to try and divide us with hot button social issues. I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE ON NOV. 7th TO PLEASE DO SO. If gay marriage concerns you more than global warming, by all means vote republican. I will be voting for a democrat.

- When are you going to get it into your head that Iran does not have nuclear weapons. May I remind you that the UN Atomic Energy agency said Iraq had no weapons, repeatedly. But, Dubya managed to convince enough Americans that he had, dispite the fact THERE WAS NEVER A SHRED A PROOF.
Now, Dubya is playing the same card again. The UN Atomic Energy agency says they don't. And they are the ones over there poking around. Not anyone Bush has sent.
So I am just trying to say that you are letting Dubya play the same fear card again. It's all about power and who stays in power. If he can frighten enough people waving the nuclear threat to keep Rep in power, he will.
Jesus Christ! Stop shaking like a leaf and imagining the worse. If you ever had drills where you had to hide under your desk when you were in grade school, or had neighbors building bomb shelters you would know a lot more about being afraid. - Reply to this comment
- Like the theme song on the higly illuminating Squid Billies on the Cartoon Channel's "Adult Swim" -- "...somtimes I just wish the Sun would explode..." That's about the only thing that would get any real attention around here. Fact is, the result of global warming will ultimately be global cooling but there will be a lot of Old Testament style teeth gnashing before it turns cold again. We are probably just hastening the inevitable so take your pick. And for all of the people who think it takes and hundreds and thousands of years for major geological or climate change there are models that show once a tipping point is reached in the amount of fresh water pouring into the Gulf Stream from Greenland then all bets are off. The "scab lands" out west in the US are a perfect example of rapid and devastating events in nature that are weather based. We are in a nearly 20,000 year warming cycle now, so there's no telling how long it will take to shut the Gulf Stream. But when that happens, it will get cold very fast because the system that heats the Atlantic will be shut down.

Who are you talking too and what are you talking about??
Are you saying your worryed about a few degree drop in temperture over the next 100 or so years, but arent worried about a psycho evil dictator with nuclear weapons? I wish you were the spokes mouth for the dems you would hand the election over the republicans. - Reply to this comment

- Why arent you whimsical libs worried about eliminating the threat of real global warming i.e. Nukes in the hands of Isamonazis. That's warming many times hotter than the sun and 300 to 400 mph winds, the Kyoto plan will have little affect in those conditions.

- Gee, doesn't Bushie's concern for our economy just touch your heart? So terribly concerned that big oil, big timber, big defense contractors may have their profits cut a little. Willing to sign off on IOU's for the next generations to pay and pay. But think about what the quality of air and water will be. Oh no, not that. What a fake.
