you know three o six---it is not going to hurt OUR economy to place orders with other countries (spread the wealth)---it WILL HURT CHINA's economy though---that is a for sure!!!! We buy from them way more than they buy from us. In fact, so much that the trade deficit with China has now become a major issue. In fact, that is I think the ONLY thing that Democrats and Republicans agree on. Even Congress, both Republican and Democrat have hinted looking at our trade agreement with China and making changes to it. Both democrats and republicans alike SEE that our trade with China has become a problem------way out of balance. So-----its not just me crying about the trade we have with China. Further, we can never bring about change if we do not even try---if we continue to listen to people brainwash us and tell us that we have no choice but to buy China's products. And no, I am NOT willing to live with a Nuclear North Korea and the non military solution is to have a message sent to the Chinese government LOUD AND CLEAR from the AMERICAN PEOPLE. How, do we go about getting the message out loud and clear---its called BOYCOTT CHINA

Your off on one point -- NK wants the stick as well and is just around the corner from having it (maybe farther around the corner than we think)-- when you have the stick you can get the rest and they know that. Every body wants to be on top (we have been for some time)

Look here laurieleemoo, your comment about smelling liberals. Can you actually do that? Stop being a Republican or a Democrat and start being an American. Diversity is what makes us free. To be able to do as we want within the law. Stop hating so much and take a look around.

To be on subject here. I find this whole fiasco with North Korea at child level. NK says "I have no money but want to be in your club. I do have a big stick though and I'll hit you with if you don't let me join." US says "We're not talking to you because you lied to me before." China needs to step up to the plate and say "give me the stick or our friendship is over." A bit simplistic but you get the point.

Take note that all countries with a nuke are doing pretty well financially. I wonder what would happen if all the countries said "AW, poor little North Korea. Here we'll give you everything you need except sticks"

OK -- I hate *** (I think they belong back in the closet) - I think that welfare should be dropped -- I am all for the wall between Mexico and the US -- I voted for Bush - I hate Clinton --

I just don't think that boycotting China will help (might even hurt). We have a new reality that we will have to accept and learn to live with.

Among other things it might drive home is our need to stay technically ahead of our enemies -- our need for tighter borders -- a definate need to develope a missle defence system. We have to realize thet the nuclear gene is out of the bottle, and we had better prepare for it. (We should have taken North Korea's and Iran's Nuclear facilities out while we had the chance) Now militarily speaking nothing less than nuclear strikes on both countries will do the job -- are you ready to go that route??

I like the Chinese, my best friend is married to one and she is a sweetie. But, you are sooo naive. Peace and harmony will no be possesed by mankind. The North Koreans have developed a nuclear (maybe on their way to a thermonuclear) warhead. It will at the very least restart the arms race. Japan and South Korea will now feel the need to go nuclear. This will make China uncomfortable. So we are on the verge of nuclear proliferation. The gene is out of the bottle and there is no way to get it back in. Sooner or later an extreem islamic group will aquire a nuclear device. It is just a mater of time now. When these devices where in the hands of just a few mega nations with a lot to loose then the MAD (Mutually Assured Distruction) kept their use at bay. That is now changing. We will now be living with the threat of a nuclear (or thermonuclear) devise going off in our midst at any time. Us Americans like to believe that we are in charge of our own destiny. The last couple of years we have seen the illusion of this control slip through our fingers. I am afraid that we are not taking it too well. Now facing our own mortality, maybe we will learn to cherish what we have now, and give up the idea of control. Maybe not. Humans are too selfish to dream that peace and harmony will prevail so now we have to figure out where to go from here.

China will continue to grow exponentialy because we as a nation are not able to act with any budgetary restraint. And because we actually pay US companies to relocate there.
