"It is being blown out of proportion — what is going on, that we are concerned about the violence," Zurutuza said. "We are. But in the context of tennis being played, I believe a great week awaits us." Blown out of proportion?? That would be funny if people weren't being killed all over the city.
Apparently, the U.S. has a lot to gain by importing lots and lots of people from Mexico. Viva legal and illegal immigration! Is there a better way of turning the U.S. into Mexico Jr.?

Could be, I could have imagined the story this past Sunday evening on ABC news at 6:00PM EST. Maybe I imagined there is an ABC News, a television, a video, a map, and a news story that said tourist areas in Mexico are safe for spring break including Acapulco, but I am sure of one thing. I am sure you are a horse's rear for calling someone a name because you don't happen to agree with them.
Glad to hear the tennis players have assurances for their safety. Wish spectators could say the same. Whatever love is left in the game, it's all on the court.
Anyone traveling as a tourist to any part of Mexico, at this time, has a death wish or is a part of the natural selection process...in my humble opinion.
You couldn't pay me enough money to travel to Mexico. And that was BEFORE all this crap was happening.
My neighbor is from Mexico and has told me many things. None good. The police are corrupt. Whether it's for crime, or for a speeding ticket, it just depends on how much money you give them, to get off. She said that children are kidnapped and they cut off their finger or ear and send it to the parents. She said that you couldn't dress up at all because it made you a target.
I read something once where it said that people were not doing enough research before they went to Mexico. There is a website that they say you should check out before you step foot into Mexico. It tells about all the roads known to have bandits on them. A woman was travelling from one city to another in a taxi and was shot through the face. They couldn't go back, so they continued on to the next town. I can't remember the whole story, but she had to end up waiting somewhere because there was no hospital. I forget how many days she had to wait for help. If she had done some research, she would have found out that this road was well known for people being attacked.
well, people could also say that they would not travel to the US since you are the number one drug users in the world, a sign of an unhappy and unhealthy society, and the ones responsible for exporting illegal weapons into mejico. They could also say that you are number one in the world in serial killers, executions, racism, ignorance, and if it wasn't for Lincoln and Martin Luther king you would still have segregation and slavery. Corruption exists everywhere at different levels, in mejico a cop makes money by taking briberies, in the US, a president and his friends make money by sending 5000 US soldiers to their deaths in Iraq so they can steal 80 billion dollars. I suggest you take some time to find out what percentage of the US population lives incarcerated so can get a better picture of where you live.
88% of people have canceled trips to Mexico for Spring Break. You would probably be safer in Egypt. Too bad, Mexico is a beautiful country with friendly people but the drug lords have taken over and the drug addicts in the US (including the rich and famous) are helping them take over Mexico and murder people by buying the drugs they sell.
It has been widely known and understood by Mexicans, that 'some' taxi drivers are part of the drug distribution network for the cartels. Get it...taxis go everywhere, so they push dope...

I don't need to. I'm a Canadian.

Yes, they could. I have also stopped traveling to the U.S.
