Think about this did you know and reported earlier this month the "NET" sea ice extent is increasing not decreasing. So why is that (look up "energy balance")?

Provide a credible scientific reference for this claim, please.

Loui, my point in a nutshell: you know what happens when you introduce energy into any stable system. At the moment the Earth is a fairly stable system, but we continue at an unprecedented rate to pump more and more green house gases into our atmosphere. Our relatively stable atmosphere will respond to that increased energy. The laws of chemistry, physics and thermodynamics tell us that. It will happen, and it's possible it could happen quickly if a dangerous feedback loop becomes entrenched in the Arctic. If so,can we adapt quickly enough? If occurs relatively slowly, we can. Either way, our planet's atmosphere is going to respond. You cannot deny that. You're betting the change that is coming will be mitigated. I'm don't want to take that chance. I'm sorry I eluded to you as a fool earlier. That was wrong, and for that I apologize. You seem very intelligent, I just happen to believe you're misinformed.

l"Yes, CO2 has been higher in the past-much higher, but it reached those levels over millions or even hundreds of millions of years and species had time to adapt to the changing climate. It's happening now much, much faster as a result of us releasing in just a few hundred years millions of years of stored carbon."

-------------------------

So do plant nursery's use CO2 to make the plants grow faster because they are adapted to higher level's of CO2 or for some other reason?

Do you realize that in an average enclosed conf room full of 10+ people CO2 levels often exceed 500ppm?

Do you realize that in an average enclose auditorium full of 100+ people CO2 levels often exceed 1100ppm?

Do you realize that that 90% of the coral lifeforms that will supposedly die in more acetic oceans evolved in CO2 atmospheric concentrations of over 2,000ppm?

Do you realize that the increasing acidity of the ocean due to absorbed CO2 is making it hard for many species to reproduce, and at current rates may make it impossible for many species to form shells within this century?

Do you also realize that CO2 is just one factor plants need to grow? Increased temperatures and lack of water are NOT good news for wheat crops. Ask the Russians.

It's a mini ice age. And I sure think the weather service blew it this time, at least, where we live. I mean the snowfall estimate forecast was off by about 8 inches.

lloydbest1 says:
For those who may be wondering "why?" in the face of a much discussed global warm-up:

The climate gurus claim shifting barometric pressures encourage certain air flow patterns that contribute to funneling broad swaths of polar air south and eastward. In a "normal" year, relatively high pressure sets up in the polar regions while relatively low pressure dominates the weather farther south - meaning below 40 dergees. This pressure differential encourages the arctic air masses to remain north while we in the U.S. get a more zonal flow.

Sometimes, though, that pressure differential disappears and lower pressure in the arctic plays all holy Ned with the jet stream, twisting it into some sort of bizarre and amplified sine wave. This pretzeling will often lock into place for days or even weeks pushing a series of arctic fronts sending wave after wave of much-cooler-than-normal air south and east. If there is moisture available such as from all those storms annoying the West coast, there will also be (lots of) snow.

This shifting of barometric pressures has been going on for millenia probably, and is a well enough known part of the Atlantic climatology that the weather wonks call it the North Atlantic Oscillation or NAO. This is far from the last word and I won't go into detail but a "google" search will fill in the details.

I also won't be drawn into either the "Is we warming or is we ain't" or the "Is we doin' it or is we not" controversy. I have my own opinion but anyone with access to a computer, a reasonably good text book on climatology or the public library can judge for him/herself.
