Can you see the problem? Only a blind man couldn't see your problem California (and a few other states).
You liberals, progressives, no labels, or whatever you're calling yourselves today, constantly blame inanimate objects ie: THE GUN for all your problems. At the same time you ignore the gangs importing drugs, guns and ammo into your cities and schools. You swallow every word your prissy media liars spoon feed you while refuseing to think for yourselves and crack down and eliminate the gangs that are causing your problems. I don't feel sorry for a one of you gutless left coasters, you brought this on yourselves so do the rest of us a favor and suffer in silence. Ban all your guns, put up a fence around that cesspool you call a State and the rest of us will watch as the gangs take over now instead of later.
You should be ashamed to call yourselves Americans.

crack down and eliminate the gangs?

what's causing the gangs ... liberals?

what if we crack down on liberals?

... or maybe we should be eliminating whatever's causing liberals.

is that the media?

Accidental shooting or not, the fact that that kid felt the need to take a gun to school doesn't say much for the school or it's moral relativism.

To those on this board calling for tighter gun controls, let it be stated that if they can't get it legally, then, they'll get it illegally.

Whether the shooting was accidental or intentional, why did a tenth grader have a gun in his backpack? Certainly, he is not old enough to have a licemsed weapon. Further, what school would allow a gun in school? Finally, the gun was loaded or it couldn't injure anyone. No matter how you look at it, this is a serious matter and should be treated as such by the courts.

He certainly is.

"Possession by minors: 18 is the minimum age for possession of a handgun, UNLESS consent is given by a parent or guardian. There is no minimum age to possess a long gun."

And do you know how many parents probably do consent? You should google "CBS Guns In America", and click on the gun laws. You would be amazed at how many states allow children of any age to have a gun with parents consent. Also how many states that do not have laws for locking the guns up. And check out the "children and guns" section. Quite interesting.

Being American isn't a skill, it's a %^$% genetic accident. Too much pride in this country. I am not religious but the bible got this right, "Pride goeth before destructio?n." Proof is all around. A little humility is long past due in America, and those who yell the loudest about how great this country is need to question themselves first, and you can bag the pledge of allegiance? BS.

This shooting and the thousands like it, accidental or not- guns in school shows how little pride we should have in what our society has become. It shameful and despicable!

When will we Americans get disgusted enough to put an end to this violence? I am betting never. You can drown the reality in patriotism, I'm not buying any of it.

whats the big deal, in the 1800's every kid knew how to use a firearm and almost everyone had one and wore it.

In Texas the NRA is currently sponsoring an 18-year-old kid who is suing to be allowed to carry a concealed handgun. And that kid is truly spooky.

I hate to break it to you wolf but at 18 you're a legal "Adult" by law so your "teenagers" comment is full of hot air. Now, would you like for 18 year olds to be able to drink alcoholic beverages? If you don't agree let's raise the age to 21 for alcohol, military service, voting, lawsuits, gambling, adult certification for crimes committed and drivers licenses. Definitely for drivers licenses as teemagers kill far more people with cars than guns. What say wolf, sauce for the gander?
Wolf1944 replies:

The age for buying alcohol is 21 in most states. The states experimented with allowing 18-year-old to buy liquor. That didn't work out at all. I think some states still have beer bars for people under 18.

At 18 you're an adult for some purposes and a child for others.

Google James D'Cruz and read about him then think about whether he ought to be packing. I wouldn't let him have a spoon.

And most of these happenings are caused by it being made so easy for humans to "mess" with guns.
