Its sad when someone needs to be a government official to be missed, in America today government, lawyers and judges are killing our loved ones and no one cares. CBS did a recent story here http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/12/23/eveningnews/main7179542.shtml?tag=nl.rSINGLE
About a woman who lost everything, she however is lucky as many of these seniors are murdered.

It's sad that when a federal judge is shot dead we make a big deal about it. Yet judges like this one are killing, stealing, lying and abusing thousands of senior citizens. Are we mourning for these seniors? What do their families feel?

A death is a death and a loss is a loss, please don't ignore a life due to someone being in congress or being a judge. Congressmen are suppose to stop what is going on in America, yet they've ignored the Elder Abuse that goes on everywhere. http://stopguardianabuse.org/ has documented hundreds of cases.

Senior are being harvested, murdered, drugged and all their possessions sold, liquidated and stolen.

The family of the congress woman who was shot, I feel for you, please feel for others that are not as well known as she is.

No matter what happens with Giffords, she will never be able to function again as a congresswoman. This is what bothers me the most - essentially the gunman succeeded. While he didn't assasinate her, he gave her the same wound that James Brady got during the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan. So all the other wack job nutcases out there will think that assassination of political figures is a good idea.

I also recall reading that in AZ the governor appoints a successor. The governor is a Republican. If he goes out there and appoints a very conservative Democrat or a Republican to succeed her, then that will give even more fuel to the fire that assassination is a good way to get what you want.

Ms Giffords injury should not impede her congressional career in the least. Democrat members of Congress never use their brains, anyway.

You've misused the term 'trajectory'. Trajectory is what a bullet has before impact. The term you should have used is 'wound channel'.

This unfortunate event will launch almost mob-like "bonfire of the vanities" as everyone with a political agenda will emotionally put in their 2 cents to explain what happened. All the forthcoming theories do nothing to get to the core of why the spineless *sshole did what he did. We need to wait until the investigative authorities gather more facts, along with the supporting evidence, before we jump to any conclusions. Until then my heart goes out to all the victims involved.

I have been posting here since 06..The Canadian lady is right. I don't live in AZ but did Just about everyone in AZ packs a gun. I felt uncomfortable there. I know the US Constution has the right to bear arms.. A person with metal illness has no right to bear arms. I don't own a gun and as a handicapped lady blind with C/P from birth have freely given up that right.
I do hope that the ones shot will recover. It is so sad..Right now it is important that they each get the care they need.
The gunman will be dealt with as he wrote his ticket.

Rhetoric didn't cause this!!!! These things are happening daily in America--the only difference is one of the people shot was a Congress person. Do some research -just read the last 3 months of the Buffalo ,New York newspaper, if you think I exaggerate. There are no big outcries when it's an average citizen killed by some mental patient. Why should our government officials feel that they should have a safer existence than the rest of us? The Mental Health Laws in this country contribute to these tragedies, intervention by the mental health system might have been enough to prevent this terrible thing , and the countless other killings from happening.Using the deaths of six innocent human beings, that were not politicians, to tell the rest of the country not to speak of dissent is a disgusting display of arrogence by the media and the politicians that are doing it.

You need to stop. You're just making yourself look like a wacko.

We should be allowed to speak freely, although the words we use, if incendiary may have consequences, especially if the person(s) expressing those words are held in high regard.

Lily777 can say whatever she likes, I don't care. What I do care about is the fact that she had to repeat it THREE times. When someone repeats the same thing that many times, all they are accomplishing is making themselves look like an obsessive nutcase.

lily77 is using a technique by repeating it multiple times she attempts to force you to believe it. For a weak mind it works she is attempting to shift the blame and that doesn't work in this case.

Sorry lily but we are tired of this retroic and you can except to see more people turning away in the coming months.

Glad to see someone has finally reported this accurately. So many others are saying "she's communicating" which she is not. She's on a ventilator, in an induced coma and responding to slight commands when forced to come out of the coma slightly. The top of her skull has also been removed to make room for swelling.
