I want to see their salary #'s for next year. They do not deserve what they are paid and neither does Obama. They should need now to pay for those children futures. Are they paying for the funerals for the lost ones. They should have to attend every single one of them to see what they have put these families through. Its not about the money...its about the loss of life and life that is still being lost in the ocean. Families make a living off the waters and now they have to fear that they will not be able to in the future. More loss of life because they will not be able to afford to feed and cloth their family. No this is not the worse thing to ever happen to the American people, 9 11 was because of the impact it played on every signal American , but this is the second most because it does impact the American people in their hearts and souls. They (BP) need to get their butts out their in their hip waiters and help clean up their own SH**. But nope that?s to good for them (BP), we the AMERICAN people once again have to do it. My thoughts and prays go out to those whom lost loved ones and to those who are still suffering. GOD Bless you all.

Look Dr. No. I realize it appears your right wing message has severely been sullied by the exposure of its deceit but really, this doesn't mean Armageddon is going to be an easy sell. It may have been big when Ronald Reagan first took office but a whole new generation has hope in their iPods.

Obama lickspittle. Hope won't remove the oil from the Gulf no matter how hard and fast you click your heels, Dottie.

I'm sorry, i'm a bit confused, does America now care about the environment? They don't seem to care when it doesn't affect them directly, otherwise there would be a big uproar about the oil spills happening in the Niger Delta right now. But then thats an American company causing it and doing absolutly nothing about clearing it up. Time to wake up to what's happening in the rest of the world, yes that's right there are more countries out there.

Oh, the planet is huge, just huge. That's why I really don't understand why 45 states would care what's happening in the region of 5 or so states in the Gulf.

What a cluster. There is a law we utilize in this country and is called 'Emminent Domain'. When the safety of the neighborhoods are threatened by whatever actions of others, the government has the right to seize that said property. They pay fair to below market value for it, they lay claim to all rights, liabilities and responsibilities post acquisition.

Pay for it with what? Tax payer money and then do what with it? Take it off of "bps" hands and socialize the cost of it amongst all. After that, all people would hear from the propaganda networks is how Obama is turning this into a socialistic state.

The demand for tea bags would reach incredibly new heights never to last on grocery store shelves more than seconds.

Pres. Obama spent far too much time assigning blame, instead of addressing the environmental impact from day one. Ever the community organizer, he's focused on expediting claims payments for those directly affected.

The Gulf Oil Disaster may not be Obama's 'Katrina' but it's certainly his TAR BABY.

'Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness' have been severely compromised because of the actions of a company that is not taking full accountability (the ability to account) and responsibility (the ability to respond) for their actions, or in this case inaction. The people of the entire gulf region and soon to be parts east and north are being 'severely compromised'.

Even though these are international waters this type of 'terrorism', albeit it innocent is an affront against the prosperity and true value of this nation. It is time for the government to take control of this well, and the responsibilities along with it. I, like so many others, have recommended numerous ways to stop this flow which would be a far cry better method than BP has tried to utilize.

If there are other rigs tied to that well have them pump at full capacity, free up all tankers to offload and store, and dedicate all refineries to storing and processing this oil. Tell Saudi Arabia we will not need their oil for awhile because the US government has started a company called US National Trust and Oil.

If competition is the conduit for 'free market enterprise' what better way to bring value to 'the company', increase shareholder (taxpayer) value, and utilize resources (oil and gas) this well produces. The government can use this oil in their national reserve, create new ones, and provide long term stability for the entire nation.

BP has shown they are incapable of qualifying as a 'good tenant' of their property and we have the right to seize their property since they have had adequate opportunity to perform their duties responsibly and failed to do so.
No one seems to know much about 'this well' but I would imagine there will be a point we will completely drain it, unless there are numerous feeders that supply it, in which case we are investing tremendouly in our future.

We have the department to run this company, czars up the ying-yang, men and women waiting to get back to work, and consumers willing to pay less for their gasoline and lighten the load of their financial burdens. The lesson needs to be taught and learned there is accountability companies and people have to each other, and when their lack of foresight and insight is insufficient to provide value, or create dangerous or unsafe conditions for others; you need to seize the moment.

"Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country". Doing the right thing can and does produce value, worth and growth.

What? Take the national security of this nation out of the hands of private multinational profiteers? That's socialism. How dare anyone conceive of the idea of a nation united under one flag indivisible with liberty and justice for all !

Oh yeah, all that extra methane in the Gulf, could potentially suffocate marine life and create "dead zones" . . . as opposed to if the gulf were just filled with regular crude oil, which would merely set-up area's where sea life could flourish and frolic?
