Abortion is here to stay and anyone who says otherwise is not facing reality. Abortion rates in countries where abortion is illegal are as high as here and death rates of women seeking abortion are much higher. The reality is that if you want to slow down abortion rates you don't spend money on polarizing billboards but on sex education and family planning instead.

If the shoe fits wear it. If women are having children because they are a by-product of unprotected sex then they should be sterilized. Most unplanned children are raised in welfare & poverty homes, & they are never just one, they will have many brothers & sisters to share their disfuntional life with. Abortion is the last resort we should have to take & it is the right of all women & all the do-gooders & religious nuts should make sure that they are providing for their children & adopting as many orphans as they possibly can afford to purchase. Just remember you are only responsible for yourself not others that are choosing what is right for them. There is no excuse for an unplanned child in todays world, there are many means of birth control & alot of them are free. Churches are against birth control because they charge their members to hear the word of God & every member represents many dollars of income. You just got to love those "born again christians" with their holier than thou attitude, their past is wiped clean & they become "virgins" all over again.!!!

Also, even more and more Roman Catholics are practicing birth control; except the use of abortions. What the priest doesn't know, won't hurt him.

Maybe they should be, but so should the men. Go ahead and run for congress with that as your platform.

Maybe women should be given the option of a free tubal ligation with each abortion. Sounds good to me.

I normally stay away form the right to life or right to choose issues. I truly believe that there exist in the U. S. system a bias against Blacks. I am white Anglo Saxon, I grew up in the south. I believe that there many issues that are more obvious situations of discrimination. I spent a few minutes reading about Margaret Sanger, I do not believe that she was a part of a movement against Blacks.
I would like to ask all that read this comment, to view the movie "Supper Fly", I am being as serious as I can be.
Then after you have watched this movie, I want you to ask yourself, the following question, What is the greatest message in this movie?
I personally met Gordon Parks Senior, a number of years before this movie was made, I am not sure it this movie was directed by Gordon Senior or Junior. I was impressed with Gordon Senior when I met him, but I really do not think much of either one of them after viewing their movies, I do not like what I think is the main message. The only out of the Ghetto is to sell drugs, to me this is the main message.
I do not mean to offend any one, I truly hate what is happing to Black America, I hate a lot of what is happing to America in General. In my life I have known some very kind and loving blacks.

Hainvg a lot of babies with no husband and no viable means of support does not solve anything either. BUT it DOES contribute to the high % of young black men in prison, young blacks poorly educated and the high infant mortality rate--the reason-- all women are having a lot of babies (black and all other races) but they are NOT raising those children--the streets are.

Armyoftwelve makes a great point. The thing that bothers me the most is that the children being aborted are more than likely from people that can afford one. As a result, the poorer African-Americans that cannot afford abortion are having more children and a proportionately higher number of these children are in a single parent home. The lower the socio-economic level, the more crime and juvenile delinquency and the vicious cycle continues. Margaret Sanger could not have planned it better!

From a broader standpoint, I believe that legalized abortion has left a moral stain on our country, from which we are suffering the consequences. Fifty years ago, most families, black or white, were nuclear, with a father and mother in the home. Since that time, the black family has suffered horribly with absent fathers and the white community is catching up fast. It is truly sad.

The problem with this ad campaign is that, it attempts to use a scientific term (endangered species) in a statement that is factually inaccurate to a degree that even the most uneducated casual observer will not buy into it. Just step oustide and take a look around.

If they are trying to win over public opinion, they will need to do a better job than that. Since all facts, logic and reason point to the need for "family planning" (ie: abortions), maybe they should stick to what they know (ie: religion). I know that religion may be fading in numbers in the U.S. But, if you ban together people of all religions, they probably still constitute a majority.

Then just come up with a winning campaign slogan. It doen't need to be burdened by facts or logic. Threats of eternal damnation are always a crowd-pleaser... Or, if that is too old school, maybe they could take pointers from the modern television advertising industry. Major corporations have become quite adept at distorting "scientific fact"... Maybe a nice campaign slogan like "4 out 5 Gods surveyed choose life." or better yet "4 out of 5 black babies surveyed choose life in poverty over death."

nasadawg - Yes it does have to do with responsibility. So the day you figure out how to make EVERY, EVERY SINGLE MAN stay and live up to his responsibilities when he's been part of creating a child - thats the day you might start to turn and tell the women what they have to do!
