Guns serve to give people a sense of power and thus a part of the bill of rights, but the limit on liberty is when it harms others. The question, however, is personal responsibility. Its a shame that legal gun owners are punished for the actions of a few.
All the politicians did was assault the tax paying loyal gun owner because we are easy targets...meanwhile gang bangers in Obama's hometown of Chicago get to celebrate 500 murders. I love my AK47, its a tactical defense weapon, and I like firing it at the range because of its performance. Whether YOU or anyone else thinks I don't need it can shove it sideways. My country, my choice....you want to take that away? you move away and let us protect our rights, the constitution and our liberties. Remember this, by allowing Cuomo and Obama take our rights away is allowing them to do whatever they feel with our bill of rights. What good is a right when that right can be taken away? it should be renamed a bill of privileges,no?
Adolph Cuomo and the other New York lefties were in such a hurry to take rights away from their citizens they forgot to include an exemption for law enforcement. I haven't heard anything this fun ny in years.

Using the hysteria of the shooting they passed yet more gun control, interfering with the lawful citizens rights. The act was in a gun free zone committed with stolen weapons, by someone who was mentally unqualified to have them. Proof positive that the gun control laws did not work. Reason not needed in this country. If some something and he can afford, that is enough reason. If you believe people should be allowed to only have things they NEED, you should try a communist country. Their governments take everything and give you only what they think you need. BTW, that car of yours can go over 100 MPH. Give me a reason why you need that. Otherwise, trade it in for a 50-pound Smart Car.
Maybe somebody wants a semi-automatic rifle and has enough money to buy one, or more? So now you think the Bill of Rights is the Bill of Needs? Maybe New York state should shut down all newspapers except the Times? After all the people only NEED one newspaper.
