I think it's time for a ferry ban. Ferries hurt people.

No doubt there were just as many injuries in the attorney stampede to the dock.

Was the ferry captain drunk? In 1976, 78 died in a collison between a ferry and an oil tanker on the Mississippi River. The captain was drunk.

[People answering the phone at Seastreak's offices in New Jersey referred questions to a lawyer, who did not immediately return phone messages.]

all referrals will be referred to a review board ... which will review all referrals and refer back to the review.

people expecting real answers to real questions will wait a real long time before anyone really takes them seriously.

What a great country America is. the journalists cannot even spell properly. Great educational system (NOT). The structure of a ship includes "poles" not "polls" which is where people vote. Relying a bit too much on spell-check, are we?

It is always dangerous to ridicule others on spelling. You should use complete sentences and capital letters at the beginning of sentences.

Actually, I'm not sure they even use spell-check. : ) I don't think they even re-read what they've written.

Of course, I'm the last one who should complain because I make my own mistakes.

Internet Explorer does not have spell-check. The new one might, though. Right now, I'm using Firefox and it does have it.

There is one thing that bothers me though. The CBS writers are being PAID to do a JOB, and therefore should make sure their spelling is right.

The funniest thing I have ever seen was a quality lecture by our boss. He passed out a quality handbook. He said small things like spelling say alot about attention to details. Here's the kicker. On the handbook cover, the word "facility" was spelled "faclity". The word "manager" was spelled "manger". LOL

I'm actually surprised that with all the ferries operating in and out, of New York, that there aren't more accidents.

By and large they do a great job. The critics can try to imagine parallel parking their SUV while the asphalt is moving rapidly toward the curb, in waves.

There's not really much a passenger can do in that situation. It is kinda like being on a slow moving train headed for a collision with something that doesn't budge easily, like another train.

I'd have said abandon ship (as long as you know how to swim and saw the collision about to unfold, knowing it wouldn't be good) but that wouldn't make any sense. Not in those cold waters. And even if the water was warm, not everybody would want to or have the chance if they would want to.

Still in all, if this was summertime, and I was standing on the edge and knew thing was just seconds away from slamming hard into a wall, I might just be jumping off, springing as hard as I could. Might be worth getting wet and perhaps exhausted, trying to swim to a place that would actually allow you to exit the water.

This would have never happened if there had been a law preventing it from happening. Ban everyone from New Jersey too. For the children!

There was clearly a mechanical problem if numerlous people complained about the boat beforehand. Stupid comments do not change that.
