Yeah, in his "head" he knows he did a terrible "wrong" and terrible "injustice" to his victims, but in his "heart" he meant no harm. A real sick man! A sick family too.
And there are more victims the school will settle out of court with. What a jerk of a man. Why did it take so long? Blessings to ALL the victims. Parents, teach your children well! I know there is a lot of unreported sexual abuse, even moreso with males, than females. What I do not understand is why a victim does not report the abuse "immediately" regardless of what the abuser says. There are MANY people abuse can be reported to. I grew up in an alcoholic family and was subjected to many attempts of sexual abuse by family friends, but it never happened, because I spoke my word and meant every word of it from the time I was a little girl to age 16, the last attempt.
How in God's name can he still proclaim his innocence after all the evidence against him? He is seriously delusional, and his wife should be right there beside him sharing the sentence!

I read about the Fells Acres incident and that was a one off. A bad combination of rotten luck and a headhunting prosecuter whose ethics were not a whole lot better than Sandusky's. This ain't anywhere nearly in the same league.
First off we had a judge, Cleland, who bent over backwards to give Mr. Sandusky every advantage he could. Then we have 8 young men who testified against Jerry; and even if 7 of 'em were lying in their teeth it only takes one. There were several people, including Spanier, Shultz and Curley who had full knowledge of S's. recreational pursuits and memos indicating such are in the public record. These go all the way back to 2004. Mike McQueary, who had nothing to gain and EVERYthing to lose had he done more than he did said enough to get the investigation going. I could go on....
I imagine the judge will consider Mr. Sandusky's prepared statement in handing down a sentence. I expect he will consider this an aggrivating circumstance and throw the book at him....
Linda...please do not condemn an entire university. There are certain officials perhaps that are evil, but not every single person who works there or attends there. It's statements like yours that create an irrational hatred towards an entire entity.

I really do believe he thinks himself innocent of the charges, he has convinced himself as such via the mental processes of rationalization and denial.
