I know we all have civil rights and are entitled to due process....and under ordinary circumstances, I respect and support these guarantees and protections....but, isn't enough enough ? The police know who most of the bad guys are, and they also know where to find them. Perhaps it's now time for a big dose of retaliation for all the mayhem and misery these parasites and thugs from the inner city to the biker clubhouse have caused and continue causing this country.

If we started treating these types as if they were an invading army intent on the destruction of our way of life....which, by the way, they are, we could end a great deal of this insanity. It's quite obvious to all but the most delusional, that this is an issue and a problem which affects us all in one way or another. We need to send a loud and clear and unmistakable message to these blood-suckers and self-perpetuating systems of violence, destruction and murder, that their time has come to an end....then end it.

This is an honest sentiment, but we must remember the underlying factors which drove our forebearers to this country and why they struggled to design a Bill of Rights and a Constitution. While it may appear obvious someone has broken the law our nation of laws requires us to prove the guilt with evidence. Past history has proven without such guarantees the corruption of officials or vindictiveness of citizens could use the courts to eliminate those of us with whom we just disagree. A nation of laws must adhere strictly; it truely is better to set 10 guilty persons free than allow one to be unjustly sentenced. We already see how many deathrow cases have been overturned because of faulty charges. Let the law run its course and we can be assured our priorities are true.

Audemus; your solution, however unintentional, would unavoidably and automatically include anyone who rides a motorcycle:

I have never ridden a motorcycle on the streets or highway, actually I never learned to ride one, but I am sure there are many honest and hard working folks who truly enjoy riding their "bikes".

It would be against everything this country has ever stood for to systematically punish these folks simply because they ride motorcycles

jmn122736 is correct. These bikers are what we in the motorcycle community call the 1%ers, which means that they represent 1% of the motorcycling population. The other 99% of us are hardworking people; doctors, lawyers, teachers, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, students, mechanics, pilots, truckers... It is absolutely unfair for someone to paint all of us with the same brush, because the vast majority of motorcyclists do not and will not ever break the law so flagrantly. Maybe the government's time would be better spent trying to address the illegal-alien epidemic that has plagued our country for so long; instead of giving them government handouts, free tuition (which takes it away from myself and my children), low- or no-cost housing, etc., perhaps they should remember that the first half of the term ILLEGAL alien says it all. Send them back to their country and let them return legally; at least we know then that they will pay their dues to society just like we do.

With all due respect to all who have commented on my comments; ordinary police procedures have been employed against these organized criminal elements for as long as these gangs have been around....and with very little to show for it. Gangs from inner cities to the suburbs, from street punks to outlaw bikers need to be put on notice that their insanity will no longer be even slightly tolerated. I respect the Bill of Rights and our Constitutional freedoms, and have served my country in their defense, however, people who criminally trample all over other peoples' rights and freedoms have no place in a civilized society....and the only language they will ever understand and respond to is that of the violence they so indiscriminately dispense upon law-abiding citizens in this country each and every day.

Yes, I favor a radical solution, because this is a radical problem. I too, have concerns for the law extending its' reach too far, and the sort of response I'm advocating certainly carries that risk....but in my opinion that risk pales in comparison to the greater risk if the current status-quo remains in effect.

I am also a motorcycle enthusiast, as are my brothers and many friends and acquaintances, and enjoy riding very much. I don't engage in extortion, I don't sell drugs, I don't murder people, and I am not a loan shark, nor do I go around shooting at people walking down sidewalks in their own neighborhoods. As I said in my earlier comments, the police know who and where these people are, and I trust they understand the difference between a Hell's Angel or Outlaw, and someone who merely likes to ride motorcycles....give them a little credit....I also trust that the authorities know the difference between Black P Stones and a Crip or a Blood, and children walking home from school.

This problem has gone on for way too long, and the response thus far has been ineffective, and the results are alarmingly obvious....it's time a solution more "proactive" is employed. The risk if we do nothing is much greater to us all, than the risk we expose ourselves and our society to, if we continue on the same course we have followed up until this point. I'm tired of children being shot to death on our streets, and I'm tired of people living in fear behind dead-bolts and chains....we can and must do better than that.

To group these men with street thugs that would kill their own mothers for a dollar is unbelievably ignorant. The Outlaws support several charities and our troops fighting for our country!! Obviously someone doesn't do their homework and just goes on what the media says like most other sheep. To have an opinion u should really have all the facts and not just say what society wants you to. And what your saying sure sounds like what someone else said when they tried to wipe out an entire race of people because he just didn't like them....In my opinion people like you are the dangerous ones, not a brotherhood of bikers being wrongly prosecuted and harassed....SYLO

Okay, I'll admit that -- in this area -- I'm way behind the times.

But honestly, didn't "biker gangs" go out after the 70's?

Every time I see some pathetic dude walking around with his pack of cigarettes rolled up in his T-shirt sleeve, I want to ask him what time-warp he got stuck in.

Kinda like motorcycle gangs.

There are still "biker gangs," and then there are highly reputable motorcycle organizations. BIG difference. And yes, they do still exist, they are just not as prevalent and "in-your-face" as they were 30 years ago.

About time something was done about these cowardly creatures.

They make out as big tough guys when in a bunch, so long as there are more of them, but are in fact cowardly ***** cats otherwise.

What about doing something about all these so called outlaw bikies, they are all cowardly creatures.

Chicago really is not worth bothering with. The gang membership there is 150,000plus according to the Chicago tribune. Chicago jails and morgues are full and overcrowded. It's a Democratic haven, you know what I mean. They have had 275 murders so far this year probably all union members.
IAMCS replies:

smittyc, so we just let it fester to turn out more thugs to kill more kids, so we can jail more kids, as long as they stay in their own neighborhoods? What about the people there that do not want to live in a hellhole? What about the kids that want an education and a chance to live past 7 without being shot dead in their own front yard while they play? "Not worth bothering with"? Do you think it can be contained in Chicago?
