The right wing war against the poor continues. Just like it does against women, gay people, Muslims, the media, unions, public workers...the list just goes on and on, doesn't it?
The GOP has no compassion for others except the rich, where they get their campaign contributions. It is a fascist power grab where rich, corporations and the GOP will rule over everyone else.
The rich steal money every day by paying low wages and charging high prices, society is just getting some of those ill gotten gains back through taxation rather than putting them in jail for crimes they have committed, be thankful.
The people just above the poverty line will not be able to afford the exchanges, that is why there is Medicaid expansion. Now that they court has made the ruling, fewer states will be expanding, that is a bad situation where the working poor will get the shaft once again.
What Mitt Romney did for Massachusetts should be lauded. 98% of the people in Massachusetts are insured. Instead of taking credit for this, he has decided to shake the etch a sketch and pander to a bunch of right wing wackos.
"..coverage to 2 million people in the first two years alone. Over a decade, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission estimates the expansion would cost the state an estimated $27 billion.."
This is maybe $20 per month per individual tax payer to insure about 1/3 of the 6 million uninsured in the state, but no they can not be bothered because the word tax is evil.
Liberals believe that if everyone pitches in we can help the less fortunate who actually have a conscience and do not take advantage of their fellow citizens. The survival of the meanest crowd would prefer that they die, but then they would have no one to take advantage of.
These states have voters too. It is up to them to get registered and vote! They need to elect governors and representatives that act on the public will.
