I applaud Matt Sandusky for finally revealing that his father abused him. The battle of desiring love and support for a foster child turned adopted son vs. telling someone of the abuse at the hands of his father must have been difficult. It would have added great strength to the prosecution's case but if Sandusky is not convicted perhaps it will bring out new victims. And I seriously wonder about Mrs. Sandusky whom is either in her own little world in whatever room she's in oblivious to the calls for help spoken with words or eyes, or is a cold, heartless woman who let the abuse continue for decades.

I believe these sort of prisoners go to a separate facility, same as cop killers, etc. because the officials know they will be killed. I agree, put them in with the general prison population.

Pedophiles CANNOT be rehabilitated...they will always re-offend. They must be convicted and taken out of society forever. Preferably, immediate lethal injection so our tax dollars aren't wasted keeping them alive in prison while they appeal.

As has been shown by these young men's testimonies, this has had a horrific impact on their lives. I hope they're all receiving counseling and can get on with their lives. None of this was their fault. They need to realize that. Jerry Sandusky did everything in his power to hurt them for his own satisfaction. People knew what he was doing. The fact they turned a blind eye him only made him feel invincible!

Everyone who was involved in covering this up also need to stand trial and serve time. "All that is needed for evil to prevail is for good men to stand by and do nothing."

I so fear that Jerry Sandusky will not be convicted on grounds on some technicality. I too believe there are lots of other victims out there.

I would say both sides got the facts out. We as readers get the sensationalism offered up to hold our attention. Am willing to accept the juries verdict, based on what I read, that is Guilty, but I won't lose any sleep either way. Sadly for our justice system, greed and avarice and money can be the driving force behind the accusations, but I don't think that is the case.

What a bombshell and a victory for all the victims. The other thing is you can NEVER trust a step-father. And CBS, stop splashing Sandusky's photo on every article-damn it!

My feeling about a sentence for Sandusky - in consideration of his age - is that he ought to be placed on a very-tight, strict Probation; with terms that if he gets further out of line, at that point he would be locked up for-life.

What does age have to do with it, this man has no place in society and any freedom is an insult to the laws of this country and the victime both known and unknown. His wife should alsdo be thrown in jail, but there is some sick rule in our culture that wants to view her as a victim. She is either the dumbest person on earth(sleepovers in the celar with young boys)or as guilty as Sandusky.

If Jerry Sandusky remains free, he will re-offend. It will be impossible to monitor him. He will manage to abuse more children.

Probation? That's off the wall nuts JimArjuna. Vissionquest is absolutely right, age has nothing to do with it, and the victims deserve to have this sick man put away. Society deserves to have him put away for life. This man is so controlled by his sickness, he's like a zombie walking around in society looking for his next victim.

I can only assume your comment was written to be controversial as no rational person could believe that Sandusky should get no prison time. Consideration of his age? Do we not want to ruin Sandusky's twilight years? What about the long, scarred lives of his victims? Their suffering will far outlast any discomfort Sandusky faces in a prison cell.
Geoff_kl replies:

His age has nothing to do with his punishment. If he is found guilty of such a vicious crime, justice for his victims is the only concern of the court and society in general. Lock him up in solitary, and throw away the key.....

All Sandusky needs is "reasonable doubt" and he'll walk. The jury doesn't know about these new accusations by Sandusky's son because they have been sequestered. The Prosecution could not put the son on the stand because he was not part of the original criminal case. Casey Anthony walked and everyone thought she was guilty. So it's not like this couldn't happen in this case. If one juror has any doubt about the victims' motivations, Sandusky will walk.
