Dumb title. A 4.1 is not much in California. What is significant about this quake and should have been in the title was: "4.1 Quake along the San Andreas Fault" This is the only thing that makes this significant. 4.1 is not significant ... On the San Andreas is significant.

Here in California, anything under about 5.1 is no big deal. It was a sharp, short one, and my wife thought it was just a sonic boom.

But a more serious response,

Hopefully nobody out there is hurt, but isn't it true that "the big one" is bound to hit at some point?

California, a state deemed full of commies according to some...

Therefore, "California Republic" (as the map pictured reads) matches up with "Banana Republic" and "Republic of China" very nicely, as those also are communist entities...

You're not very bright are you? The term "Banana Republic" refers to central and south American dictatorships (usually set up and supported by U.S. Corporations, with the help of the U.S. government), and they are usually very right-wing -- like you. And, my dim little "patriot", if you you know the Pledge of Allegiance you may recall that it is "to the Republic, for which it stands", which refers to the American Republic. "Commies", eh?

"Toad" matches up very nicely with the number of neurons you apparently have available. . .

@hypnotoad: Are you aware that the USA is a representative democratic "republic?" And to the "Republic" for which it stands...

I live in Apple Valley I was setting at my computer when I felt a sudden jolt. It was a fast hard jolt. I could hear my roof making cracking sounds. There was however a loud noise that came with it I almost thought for a second it could have been a jet passing but with the jerk that came I realized it was indeed an earthquake. Very Scary! It is not an uncommon thing for Californians but you never get use to them and I have been in many here!
