What I can't believe is this Secret Service agent thought he could get away with $30 as payment to (insert here whatever you want to use as a label) for a night's service. Now, that illustrates either a complete lack of knowlege of the local economics or a person just being cheap.

When you consider this agent was on duty 24/7 while in Colombia it is impossible to justify his activity. It is not acceptable for people outside the porn industry to engage in such acts, as those attributed to the agent, while on company time. (I know, to some people the porn industry is not acceptable. I just threw that in to avert some nut from claiming I ignored them)

In order to change this you will have to replace SS mangement,Pay them a lot more money and hire many more agents. As long as they are lonely, underpaid, overworked and constantly the will wind up in this situation.

usually its ingored unless it become an international incident

Underpaid - all but two knew the women were working - the two idiots that didn't realize the women were hookers brought the international partying to a halt.

Who cares about protecting the President, conducting pre-arrival security checks - it is all about getting laid in each and every country

They are well paid, unless they submitted expense reports for interrogating local contacts.

Pinkertons wouldn't have done this.

If you look at the major breaches of national security in the past 60 years, you find the spies were motivated by political ideology or money; they weren't being blackmailed over their sexual activities.

The Rosenbergs in the '50s were Communists. But Christoper Boyce, Andrew Daulton, John Walker's spy ring, Aldrich Ames, Robert Hanssen, Jonathan and Ann Pollard were all in it for the money.

Mata Hari and the 'honey trap' are interesting history, but greed is more likely today to turn someone to compromising security.

Sexual indiscretions were always exploited by spies, if they become known. Remember the Redhead Russian beauty? A little sex provides much information.

I'm not sure what the HUGE todo is here? Seems there were men who went out, got drunk, hired LEGAL prostitutes to accompany them back to their hotel. One girl fusses because she's due money and it becomes a national and security issue?? What should have happened is that the man pays up and moves on. Just because these guys are USSS doesn't mean they aren't allowed to let off steam - legally. I think the girl knew she was dealing with americans and wanted more money than she originally quoted...either way it shouldn't have turned into what it is now.

They are there specifically for providing lead security for a Presidential visit. Getting drunk and partying the night away, is not providing security.

It costs a bundle as it is to protect the President, so we expect professional USSS agents. Not some ***** jocks looking for co ed entertainment at the Frat house.

Boys are under 18. Adults are not on their 'own time' when its a Presidential visit. If you can't handle a serious job, don't sign up for it or cry about it all comes tumbling down.

Some members of Congress are in an uproar over 21 Americans engaging in wild partying and bringing females back to their hotel rooms; including some prostitutes.

Where was the media spotlight and Congressional outrage during the Reagan administration (1988) when there were reports of an outbreak of HIV in the area around our Subic Bay naval base? Outside the base, Olongapo had 250 bars and 6,000 prostitutes whose livelihood depended primarily on US military personnel.

During the '60s and '70s, under Presidents Johnson and Nixon, our forces engaged in the Vietnam War often spent time in Olongapo.

Thousands of military personnel who worked with classified information in the Philippines what these men did in Cartagena. Though the partying in Southeast Asia spanned decades, how many of those men were the subject of a Congressional investigation or lost their careers?

For some people this is about prostitution. Other people will be about Security and total job failure. We have already had one person who equates the USSS with his/her own elitistism and does not want the agency investigated. If your job is to protect the TOP DOG,el presidente, and you can't masturbate your urges away, disaster is going to eventually follow. If your job culture is so messed up and you can't change your agencies culture, you got to do the Serpico* thing and yell it to all who will listen. . Hire weight lifter Lesbians secure in their relationships or Eunuchs before you sink to this level.

Errata - sentence should read:

No comparision. Shore liberty, and having a night on the town, when it isn't attached to National Security.

The USSS have one job, when assigned to a Presidential detail, whether it is pre-security or with Obama - it is providing professional security.

Any lapse in professionalism is sign of weakness to be exploited by possible assassins. If USSS hire prostitutes, then you get them in compromising pictures, blackmail them to give out route information, security details - - or tell the wife, and show the pics.

When you are advance party - you are working, and represent the USSS in the country.

Romance them, hit them up for money and move on to the next sucker. That's par for the course on the streets. The Secret Service should give it's officers specific training on how to deal with fast women in the field. Perhaps I've watched too much James Bond but aren't these guys trained in psych ops?
