The term 'hazzing' became a reference to give rich white boys a break when caught beating another human in sadistic rituals. Apparently, the student body and administration at FAMU wants the same privilege. Well boys and girls at FAMU, you have 'arrived', welcome to the machine. Medgar Evers would not associate with you...you are what you do.

And I am ashamed to be a Florida resident, if killing someone during hazing is only a third-degree felony. Why should hazing have special laws that make murder less a crime than it already is?

Who in their right mind would WANT to belong to a band, club, fraternity, or anything else, for which a membership requirement is getting beaten to a pulp? What a sick society we have. Very sad for this young man and his family.

You can try to do that.... but when they parade about a 100 or so people in a court of law, of all sizes, shapes, ethnicity.... things are going to get really ugly, really fast.

This doesn't sound like a hazing..... this sounds like a BEATING that this guy went through and I hope they nail everyone that took part in this.

A month or so in jail will send a message to the people who did this that it is totally unacceptable.

Eh.... I wouldn't go so far as murder because the fact is that this was a group of people. Under current legal principals, when it is a group of people and the 'mob mentality' comes into effect, aggravated manslaughter is the most common charge.
