No it took the Dems 2-1/2 yrs since they took control of governement in Jan 2007 to screw things up. Think how much more they'll screw things up in the next 3-1/2 years!!! - Reply to this comment
- God help us all.
I don't care who's fault it is,
it just needs to be fixed!
Repub or dem, left or right, lib or conserv.
The problem is NATIONWIDE! ! !
It needs to be fixed before we are all floating
down the river without a paddle.
The president and congress need to get the
money flowing to create jobs NOW! !
Whatever the incentive needs to be, it needs
to be done NOW! ! ! - Reply to this comment

- The story CHANGES weekly. Where are the 3-4 million jobs Obama promised, if the stimulus was passed? It had to be passed without reading it.....

- Typical liberal response = Blame BUSH. Bush has some responsilbity, but don't forget that the Democrats have had both houses since 2006. Both parties are to blame. America can't afford for Obama to have on the job training. If he gets the "Cap & Tax" and "Medical Welfare Program" passed then this country will colapse. New Yorkers will face a 57% tax rate if you make of $350K to pay for his social programs. America can't afford his socialist programs.

- So, Washington, where are these 600,000 jobs that were supposed to be created in the first six months of this year?????
I'll tell you where they are! Corporate "BAILED OUT WITH TAXPAYER DOLLARS AND NOW MAKING BIG PROFITS" America sent them all to Eastern Europe, India, and STILL-RED China!!!!!! They went to the same countries where the other MILLIONS of jobs that were lost since October went!!!!!
AND it ain't over yet folks! GM doesn't want to build cars here anymore but build them in Brazil!!! Naturally they won't cost any cheaper, after all how could the corporate execs at GM afford $1,000 wastebaskets and steak and eggs for breakfast, while you eat toast and coffee (essentially, BREAD AND WATER!)???
HAIL OBAMA???????????? - Reply to this comment
- Welcome to "Change" America. Has anyone even heard ONE WORD about how we cure the problem of a $6billion MONTHLY trade deficit with China? Spend the $6 bilion at home every month and see what that does for unemployment.

- Wait until those car dealers close down . . .
wait until all the commercial real estate defaults, evictions & forclosures impact the financial market . . .
wait until all these foreclosed homes actually go to auction and the 2nd mtg. and equity loan holders get scr. . .
wait until interest rates and inflation start climbing up the ladder.. - Reply to this comment
- Here lefty, lefty, lefty... Where are you?
I can only come up with two explanations why there are no lefty sychophants on here rushing to defend Obama. Either:
1) They can't come up with anything without looking foolish, or
2) They have avoided this article because it could burst their fantasy that everything is great under Obama and everyone who thinks otherwise are racists. - Reply to this comment

- In jan 2001 when Bush took over the Govt Deficit was $5.7 tillion.....in Jnauary 2007 when the Dems toook over it was $8.6trillion....currently it is about 11.5 trillion.....
In 5 yrs Bush added$3 trillion to the deficit. In just 2-1/2 years the Dems have added $2.9 trillion! and they will add another 3 trillion in 2010.
try being honest, GeorgeWHoover.

Hey tautomer.....try again.
When Bush took office the national debt was $5.7 trillion.
When Bush left office it was $10.7 trillion.
Your sugar-daddy Bush blew $5 trillion in 8 years.....ON WHAT???
____________________________________________________________________
Probably should not bother with a debate. Tautomer believes congress runs the country when there is a GOP president. That way the right wingnuts can blame congress for Bush's mismanagement of our country the last 8 years.
Also, there are no checks and balances in government according to the right wingnuts blaming a democratic congress for increasing the budget deficit.
So I wish you good luck with your debate.

This is pretty good comedy... if you have very little reasoning capacity. Notice how Bush was responsible until they had someone else they could blame it on. Fact is the Democrats had such a slim margin in Congress they could not get any of their agenda past the Bush veto. So, in reality, what 'tautomer' is saying is Bush and the republicans took the deficit from 5.7 trillion to 11.5 trillion, but they would like to blame most of it on the democrats, thank you very much!

- Cleaning up a big mess takes while. If you want to blame somebody, try Wall Street, Corporate Banks and cheap labor in China and elsewhere which Corporations have feasted on, Illegal immigration, which Bush basically ignored during his regime. Give the man some time and then you can B*tch and Moan and someone will actually listen.

-------------------------
Any kind of analysis of the current economic conditions in this country is absolutely inadequate without a mention of Bush in a starring role. What, you still think if only McCain had won, the economy would be well on the way to complete recovery?
- Anyone notice how few liberals are on here defending Obama on this issue? Apparently, they've realized that the argument "If we hadn't passed the stimulus, things would be much worse!" is indefensible. Likewise with the excuse that not much of the stimulus money has been spent. Of course, it's hard to defend those talking points when Obama himself said that we needed a "timely" fix to prevent unemployment going over 8% and then proceeded to ram the stimulus down America's throat without giving anyone enough time to read it.
