Yea, but until you spell "Mormon" right, you'll just be another sinner to them.

This story makes me want to build a Mormen Plaza outside of my house, to keep all the fruits from kissing each other!

I grew up in south Idaho, mormon country. And I know exactly what you're talking about. Lots of mormons are basically good people but when it comes to their religion they are outright fanatical. Their religion is a simmering cesspool of self-righteousness that will eventually burn itself out, but I think it will take a lot of people with it when it does.

I just keep a couple of big dogs in the house and they don't even try to open the storm door to come in. Worked for me just last Sunday.

Being raised in a Mormon community, as the only one of six children that is not Mormon, I have seen the Mormon "Holier Than Thou" attitude hard at work for most of my life. One gay friend of mine who was with his partner for over 18 years was ostracized by his family until he passed away, at which point his family then claimed his body and refused to allow his life partner to attend the funeral. This is totally the Mormon mentality. My niece's best friend as a child was not allowed to play with her once the friend's family realized that my niece was not a Mormon. This type of thing happens very frequently here. I have no use for their narrow minded and discrimatory way of thinking.

walkshe -- you are absolutely correct. They are extremely mean-spirited, narrow-minded and judgemental. I don't understand how they can call themselves "christians" when they go so far against what Jesus has taught all the rest of us about love, acceptance, tolerance, and reserving judgement.
by Meg003 July 14, 2009 4:19 PM EDT
Mormons do not go around calling themselves Christians. I lived in Mormon country for years but I found them to be kind and caring, and enjoyed being welcomed into their homes and attending their public services. I guess there are all kinds in every group of people.

Well well now, Please do realize that these two guy people were on private property, not pubic property. The owner of the property has the greater "right" to say what goes on there. Oh maybe you disagree....

Hmmmmmmmmm, think I will come over to your house and camp out a few days in your front yard.

That's all we would need is for this whack job to set her pastor Thomas Muthee out to hunt up the pagans of our nation as "witches".

Does this give me the right to have Mormon missionaries that come to my door arrested? They are trespassing and profane in my opinion.

If you ask the Mormons to leave and they refuse, then yes, it they are trespassing. I don't agree with the Mormons, and I don't know the details of this case, but I would say it's fair if they were asked to leave and became hostile. Nobody, gay or straight, should be defending this.

" Church spokeswoman Kim Farah said in a statement Friday that the men were "politely asked to stop engaging in inappropriate behavior - just as any other couple would have been." "
=================================
Maybe the this Mormon Temple needs to put a couple of signs around their plaza stating "No public shows of affection allowed"...

Another fine example of religion at work, and religion interfering with the rights of those it believes doesn't live up to it's version of moral standards. The Mormon church's involvement in the politics of California was extremely shameful and hypocritical, especially given the long and treasured church history of polygamy.

Religion poisons everything, and the Mormon church poisons more than most.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is nothing more than a cult. When you call it a religion you are insulting every other true religion on the planet. I lived in the Ogden UT area for about three years and it felt more like 100 years.

I'm a Christian. Don't consider myself to be "religious" but spiritual and follow Christ's teachings as closely as I can. If people would actually follow the teaching of Christ verbatim, they wouldn't judge gay people so harshly.

I can't remember Jesus ever giving a big "anti-gay" sermon from the mount.

But he sure as heck condemned judgemental talk. "You point out the speck in your neighbor's eye, while ignoring the log in your own".

"He who is without sin, let him cast the first stone".

no one is trying to 'force' the gay lifestyle on anyone. what a load of bs! if you're not gay, great, but gays should not be treated any differently from heterosexuals in our great country of freedom. we are not a theocracy.

The Gay life style is between Gay people. No one is forced into a Gay life style. Ether you are or you are not. Is there a Gay life style police that force you into the Gay life style? Last time I checked Obama has bigger problems than who is kissing who in Utah.

How is anybody trying to "force" a lifestyle on you?

Has someone forced you to make out with someone of the same sex?
