What is "Ladder Day" anyhow?
Is that a holiday where everybody climbs up on their roof to take down their Christmas Lights - or do the Ladder Day Saints even believe in Christmas ? ? ?

"trespass"
"disapprove"
"Mormon"

Maybe it's an intellectually challenged issue, after all.

That was 35 years ago and I will be the first to admit my spelling skils have severly diminished since the advent of spell check. Unfortunately there is no spell check here. And yes I was raised a mormon for the first twelve years of life. My cub scout troop was all mormon and we heald our meetings at the mormon church on 5th street across from west side elementary school.

Ok I'll let up on the spelling then. Not everyone can spell well. I was part of the only Catholic family in a town of 500 or so mormons. They had school - before public school - at 7:00 AM at their church. I went a few times to see what it was all about. Not knowing any better then, I didn't have the good sense to be disturbed by it, but looking back it was extremely strange. Their indoctrination processes are pervasive and encompassing - from finances to social activity to the actual religion itself - it's a dangerous cult and needs to be recognized as such.

The Mormons are way too uptight about everything. I'd love to send them a couple tons of pot brownies - maybe that would mellow them out to where you could stand to be around them for more than five minutes.

They don't drink soda with caffeine in it. You think you're going to get pot brownies past those thin, judgemental lips? :)

Those comments reak of bigotry, judgement, and mary jane.

no no no. It's "reek". As he used it anyway. Look it up. :)

mswolfstock...It is so very nice to see how liberal you are in your support of freedom of religion. I think you are stuck on stupid.
by gramto8 July 14, 2009 5:33 PM EDT
Definition for wreak
- cause destruction: to cause havoc or destruction
- inflict revenge: to inflict revenge or punishment on somebody
- express anger or hatred: to express anger, hatred, or another violent emotion in action against somebody
by cs4466 July 14, 2009 6:13 PM EDT
The way it was used, it was meant to be "reek" as in "stink". "Those comments stink of bigotry, judgement and mary jane." For example.

Or. You reek. If you don't take a shower for two weeks. So it has nothing to do with "wreak"
by cs4466 July 14, 2009 1:25 PM EDT
You cannot possibly be a Mormon... even in the past - because you can't spell it. Either that or you're intellecutally challenged.

So what is actually a tresspass issue will be turned into an anti gay issue. For the first twelve years of my life i was raised morman and I know that public displays of affection are highly discouraged and I can imagine that it is very highly discouraged at the temple in salt lake. Yes I understand that the morman church disaproves of homosexual behavior but I would bet that anybody showing displays of affection on temple grounds would be asked to leave and if they began to argue would have the police called on them.

walkshe -- you are absolutely correct. They are extremely mean-spirited, narrow-minded and judgemental. I don't understand how they can call themselves "christians" when they go so far against what Jesus has taught all the rest of us about love, acceptance, tolerance, and reserving judgement.

Actually, there are probably many non-gay activities going on in that plaza that DO NOT warrant a removal request by the Church.
Please don't diminsh the fact that these guys were kicked off the property because they were acting the Gay. The Mormen Church endorses many non-gay activities, and the exercise their their property rights when it comes to freaks. . . simple as that.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is nothing more than a cult. When you call it a religion you are insulting every other true religion on the planet. I lived in the Ogden UT area for about three years and it felt more like 100 years.

Private Property. Quite simple. These men were on private property, they were disobeying the wishes of the owners of the private property. They chose to break the rules, they chose to be arrested, just like anyone else. This little protest is an embarrassment to the rights of those that claim "equal protection". Where is the protection for those that see a problem with the gay life style? Doesn't the church have the right to control what goes on on its property? Had these men been harmed, the church would have been blamed, yet when they are removed from the property, the public protests. Apparently, "equal protection" only applies if you are against religious freedom.
