What an idiotic comment. Obviously you know nothing of girls. No girl wants to be naked in front of other girls let alone a group of her peers. This child was stripped naked in front of a Vice Principle who was also a grown man. Every time she sees him, she will know he knows what she looks like naked. And she was FORCED to do so. This was visual rape done under the guise of necessary. She will be humiliated and traumatized every time she sees this person and she will cringe thinking that he knows what she looks like initimately.

For a similar experience, when you got in your fight as a kid, you would have been stripped searched by a female grown up, who would have forced you to remove your skivvies, shake them out and accused you of hiding something in them--of course, you would only have one part of your anatomy too intimate for viewing--girls have 2 areas, neither of which we want to share with strangers or strange men without our express permission. She was denied the ability to say no--I would have told my daughters to make him remove the clothes--then I would have sued him for sexual assault of my girls. The VP was a freak and should be fired.

Try reading the rest of the article. The decision also stated the school officials were not and could not be held liable--this means they cannot be sued for this. Too bad. They SHOULD be sued for this and lose their jobs. The VP may be a closet pedophile and Thomas may be an enabler.

The child was ordered to remove her underwear and bra and shake them out--in front of a grown up man--that is nasty and unnecessary--he should have sent her to the school nurse or another female to do this--I think he did it to get his jollies off--someone check his home computer--would not be surprised if child porn was on there and now the SCOTUS has made him not liable for his actions. If it had been my daughter--he would be held accountable--court decision or no.

Then again, GOPforever, what would you say if a child was "stripped searched" and as part of the search, the priniciple groped the child or searched with his *****? Strip searches should be done by no one other than law enforcement and then, by person's of the same sex--NEVER a grown man forcing a 13 year old girl to strip for any reason. Whenever this honor student walks down the hall and has to see this vice Principle, she will remember that he saw her naked and without her permission--that is gross.

If this were my child and this had happened--it would be a different kind of court case and the school would not have to worry about liability. This is why more and more, the average citizen is compelled to take the law into their own hands. When justice and common sense cannot prevail--then people cease to obey or rely on the law and the legal system. And the school SHOULD be liable for the trauma they caused that child. The VP should be fired and if not fired--made to strip in front of a jury (or a large group of 13 year olds), while they searched his underwear---he might as well suffer the same humliation as he caused that little girl.

Prescription strength ibuprofen (800mg or more per tablet) is as strong as Darvocet, Percacet, or Hydracodone at 500mg. IN fact, 3 of those Rx strength ibuprofen are enough to kill a person or make them seriously ill, if taken at the same time. That said, absolutely no one in any school official capacity should have the power to strip search a student. With so many of them later found to be child predators or pedaphiles, the implied immunity from liability is just begging to be abused by some scheming education lecher.

What would have made the action illegal? If the VP had wanked off while watching her stripped or had molested or raped her due to her already being in a state of undress? Who was present during that search? Just the male grown up and the 13 year old? I say there should be liability galore, and next time, the "school official' may take his actions to even greater heights. Who is to say the Vice Principal did not get a huge amount of masturbatory mileage about remembering his power over a young girl and her having to strip down to nothing in front of him? The justices are sick and Thomas is the sickest of the lot.

When this article (and my comments)were first posted, the implication was that the male Vice Principle had conducted the strip search. NO mention was made of any females doing the search. Don't know if CBS deliberately left the info out--but initially, on this blog--the part about him sending the girl to the nurse and another female staff was not there. Because of that, many of these posts point to the VP as being a possible pedophile. Now that we know females did the search, it is not as horrible, though the article does not say if the male was present and the girl was still humiliated. CBS is notorious for updating articles and combining them as they get more info or change the tenor of the article--when you read some of the comments, it is easy to tell which occurred before the new info was added and which reflect the new info

The school officials are not immune from suit after this interlocutory appeal. The lawsuit will not proceed.
